On 23 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff Spencer issued a citation to a sixteen year old Marietta resident for operating a vehicle without a license and for not using his headlights at night. Stopped at the intersection of Second and Wooster Streets in Marietta, the teenager informed Deputy Spencer he only had a learner’s permit.

On 23 Jul 08 Jeffery D. Hearn, age 29, 360 Peggs Fork Road, Newport, reported between 8 pm and midnight the previous evening an unknown suspect broke the windshield of his vehicle while it was parked at a relative’s home at 320 Sandhill Road, Marietta. This case remains under investigation (232).

On 23 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart issued a citation to Brian Zarkovacki, age 53, 3263 W. Barth Road, Akron, for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Lockhart stopped Mr. Zarkovacki on State Route 7 near Lockhart Street in Belpre Township.

On 23 Jul 08 David Graham, age 53, 1461 Masonic Park Road, Marietta, reported he wanted to dispose of two dangerous items in his basement. The items, which Mr. Graham stated have been in his residence since he moved in five years ago, appear to be dangerous ordnance requiring special disposal. Deputy Sheriff Miller, an expert in munitions, believes the items are World War I era and identified them as a Hatchkiss 37 millimeter high explosive round and a fuse assembly for a 105 millimeter shrapnel shell. Following closer examination the ordnance will be disposed of by using active explosive.

On 23 Jul 08 Johnny Cornwell, age 45, 116 Oak Drive, Little Hocking, reported an unauthorized individual used his credit card to have subscriptions for three adult magazines to be delivered to his residence. This case remains under investigation (610).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

John Leonard Clark, age 36, 1685 Wynncrest Drive, Marietta, for theft and for receiving stolen property, both felonies. Clark was picked up at the Noble Correctional Institution by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Jul 08 at 11:52 am.

Stacy Noelle Lohoefener, age 20, 4218 Lincoln Street, Parkersburg, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor. Lohoefener was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Jul 08 at 12:08 pm.

Thomas Joseph Loncala, age 44, 768 Davisville Road, Davisville, WV, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Loncala was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Jul 08 at 2:53 pm.

Robert Carl Burgett, age 30, 45145 Stock Township 233, Summerfield, OH, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Burgett was arrested in Macksburg by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Jul 08 at 6:44 pm.
