On 22 Jul 08 Melvin Bell Jr., age 58, 9093A State Route 669 NW, McConnelsville, reported his 1983 Honda Goldwing motorcycle broke down around 3:30 am as he traveled southbound on State Route 339 near Belpre Brick. Mr. Bell said he returned to the location with a trailer to retrieve the motorcycle and it was gone. This case remains under investigation (296).

On 22 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff Thorpe issued a citation to Jason D. Creighton, age 28, 530 Archers Fork Road, New Matamoras, for traveling 74 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Thorpe stopped Mr. Creighton near Eramet on State Route 7 in Warren Township.

On 22 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks requested warrants for Larry D. Haught Jr., age 28, 555 Dodd Run Road, Marietta, for assault and for criminal damaging. The victim in this case, Mary E. McKitrick, age 30, 836 Pike Street Apt. 3, Marietta, said Mr. Haught is her ex-boyfriend and that he appeared at her apartment asking for a leather coat. Not letting Mr. Haught inside her apartment because her new boyfriend was there, Ms. McKitrick stated she went to retrieve the coat and heard Mr. Haught kicking the door repeatedly. The noise stopped and Ms. McKitrick stepped outside to leave the coat when Mr. Haught reappeared and punched her in the face. Ms. McKitrick said Mr. Haught walked away, still muttering threatening comments.

the Sheriff’s Office received the following warrants:

Christopher M. Ball, age 23, 1985 Sandhill Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for a scheduled appointment.

Jeremy W. Coleman, age 23, 7188 S. Dale Road, Stockport, for failing to appear for a court ordered hearing on 16 Jul 08.

Alex B. Johnson, age 19, 338 Jefferson Place, Mineral Wells, for violating the terms of his probation by failing to appear for a scheduled appointment.

Eric S. Valentine, age 37, 300 Starlite Drive, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation by being charged with operating a vehicle without a license.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Nathan David Goddard, age 20, 734 Seventh Street, Marietta, for theft and for burglary, both felonies. Goddard was arrested at the Sheriff’s Office by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Jul 08 at 12:15 pm.

Noal Damiona Quattlebaum, age 21, 85 Lang Farm Road, Waterford, for murder, a felony. Quattlebaum was arrested in Waterford by Detective Park of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Jul 08 at 7:47 pm.

Leroy Gerald Everett Best, age 26, 709 Wayne Street, Marietta, for two misdemeanor counts of domestic violence. Best was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Jul 08 at 9:34 pm.
