On 20 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff Eddy requested
a summons for Christopher Watson, age 20, 836 Pike Street Apt.
19, Marietta, for theft. Questioning Mr. Watson regarding an
unrelated theft, Deputy Eddy learned that Mr. Watson stole
fifteen air brake cylinders from a dumpster behind Marietta
Truck Sales, 1301 Pike Street, Marietta. An employee of Marietta
Truck Sales stated no one had permission to take the items,
which Mr. Watson said he sold because he lost his job and needed
the money.
On 20 Jul 08 an employee of Par Mar #14, 66
Arrowhead Road, Little Hocking, reported the driver of a silver
four door vehicle drove off without paying for $52.01 in gasoline.
Interviewed at his residence, the suspect said he believed
his credit card was authorized for the purchase but must have
encountered an error. This case remains open pending notification
from Par Mar that the suspect returned to pay for the gasoline
(790).
On 20 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio arrested
William J. Smith, age 30, 1278 Bender Road, Marietta, for .17
breath OVI and for having an inoperable license plate light.
Stopped on State Route 550, had a strong odor of alcohol, slurred
his speech and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. When
transported to the Washington County Jail Mr. Smith tested
.184 BAC.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Nicholas William Lawrence, age 20, 5271 State Route 669, McConnelsville,
for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Lawrence
was arrested in Beverly by Patrolman Oliver of the Beverly
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 20 Jul 08 at 2:40 am.
William John Smith, age 30, 1278 Bender Road, Marietta, for
.17 breath OVI and for having an inoperable license plate light,
both misdemeanors. Smith was arrested on State Route 555 by
Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 20 Jul 08 at 3:15 am.
Jennifer Hanif McGill, age 30, 42500 Township Road 659, Summerfield,
OH, for driving under a suspended license and for possession
of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. McGill was arrested
on State Route 145 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 20 Jul 08 at 9:46 am.
Joshua Allen Sylvia, age 22, 42500 Township Road 659, Summerfield,
OH, for possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Sylvia was arrested on State Route 821 by
the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 20 Jul 08 at 12:35 pm.
William August Padden, age 57, 1421 Boulevard Drive, Belpre,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Padden was arrested at
his residence by Patrolman Stump of the Belpre City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
20 Jul 08 at 9:30 pm.
Daniel Dwaine Gaughan, age 42, 106 Fourth Street, Beverly,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Gaughan
was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Thomas of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 20 Jul 08 at 10:15 pm.
Gary Lee Jackson Jr., age 26, 300 Phillips Street, Marietta,
for theft, for possessing an open container of alcohol and
for disorderly conduct by intoxication, all misdemeanors. Jackson
was arrested at Speedway on Seventh Street by Patrolman Wenzel
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 20 Jul 08 at 11:00 pm.
