On 16 Jul 08 Aaron Jenkins, age 21, 2860 Walker Road, Walker, WV, reported he was standing in line at the Marathon deli in Bartlett when an individual against whom he has a protection order walked by him and mumbled an insult. Deputy Sheriff Lockhart was unable to substantiate Mr. Jenkins’ claim through eyewitnesses, therefore he closed this case as unfounded.

On 16 Jul 08 an employee of Polar Service Center, 30760 State Route 7, Marietta, reported over the past several weeks a large quantity of scrap aluminum and steel has been stolen from outside the business. This case remains under investigation (610).

On 16 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff Anderson requested a summons for a twelve year old Lowell resident to appear in Juvenile Court for being unruly. The boy’s guardian said the child was upset of the discipline meted out to him and began yelling and kicking walls and doors.

On 16 Jul 08 the Warren Fire Department transported an employee of Marietta Industrial Enterprises to Marietta Memorial Hospital following a minor accident. Derrick Lent, age 34, 117 Rauch Drive, Marietta, was pinned momentarily at his throat against a conduit but freed himself. Mr. Lent did not suffer serious injury but was held at the hospital for observation.

The following individual wAS processed into the Washington County Jail:

Melissa Ann Johnson, age 36, 550 Rummer Road, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Johnson was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Jul 08 at 9:02 am.
