On 11 Jul 08 an employee of C & C Dodge
reported sometime during the past three days an unknown suspect(s)
cut the catalytic converters off of twelve Toyota Tacomas that
were in the business’ back lot awaiting transportation
to a car crusher. This case remains under investigation (790).
On 11 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff Mankins responded
to a domestic violence call involving a six year old and his
step-grandfather Kevin D. Smith, age 53, 1743 Barnett Ridge
Road, Belpre, for domestic violence. The child’s father
said he was outside the residence they share and when he entered
the home his son told him his grandpa punched him in the face.
The child’s father questioned Mr. Smith and he replied
that he hit the child with a closed fist in the past and would
do it again. Mr. Smith said he was teasing his grandson by
taking his toy away and that after his grandson hit him in
frustration he struck the child with his fist.
On 11 Jul 08 Dale W. Wolfert, age 39, 250
Gherken Road, Whipple, reported while he was sleeping off his
intoxication following a party behind the Fox Den, his yellow
Honda Rancher ATV was stolen. This case remains under investigation
(296).
On 11 Jul 08 Joan Hendrickson, age 73, 55
Mill Street, Vincent, reported twenty-seven pills of her recently
filled prescription for hydrocodone were stolen sometime between
5 pm the previous day and 11 am that morning. This case remains
under investigation (296).
On 11 Jul 08 Corey W. Cowen, age 18, 540 Burnfield
Road, Little Hocking, reported an unknown suspect stole a check
and his driver’s license from his vehicle and later cashed
the check by forging his endorsement. This case remains under
investigation (296).
On 11 Jul 08 an employee of Shelly & Sands
reported a rotary laser, tripod and battery were stolen from
their construction area on State Route 7, a loss of over $5000.
This case remains under investigation (790).
On 11 Jul 08 a fifty-three year old Marietta
resident reported he believes his step-daughter stole twenty
Percocet pills from him and fifteen of his wife’s Xanax
pills. This case remains under investigation (790).
On 11 Jul 08 Dreama McElfresh, age 28, 615
State Route 555, Little Hocking, reported she was involved
in altercation with her mother in law Debra Collins, age 50,
and her sister in law Tracy McElfresh, age 21. Deputy Sheriff
Carr learned that tensions were high in the household and the
complainant felt that her in laws were freeloading at her house.
That evening a skirmish erupted and Deputy Carr determined
that all three parties were equally involved in the incident
and slightly injured. As a result, Deputy Sheriff requested
summonses for the three women for disorderly conduct by fighting.
On 11 Jul 08 Paul Staats, age 44, 3285 Highland
Ridge Road, Lowell, reported he watched out his window as his
neighbor, Robert M. Russell, age 19, 3275 Highland Ridge Road,
picked up a gas can on his property and took it next door.
Mr. Staats said he then saw Mr. Russell pour the gasoline into
his vehicle. Questioned by Deputy Sheriff Anderson, Mr. Russell
said he didn’t think taking a little gas would be a big
deal. As a result, Deputy Anderson requested a summons for
Mr. Russell for theft.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jonathan James Bazen, age 26, 718 Ohio Avenue Apt. C, Belpre,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Bazen was arrested at
the Budget Inn by Patrolman Clevenger of the Belpre City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
11 Jul 08 at 1:02 am.
Jacqueline Daisy McGraw, age 20, 108 Dawes Circle, Marietta,
for driving under an FRA suspended license, a misdemeanor.
McGraw was arrested on State Route 26 by Deputy Sheriff K.
Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on
11 Jul 08 at 3:30 pm.
Theresa Lynn Noyes, age 46, 945 Noyes Road, Beverly, for possession
of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.
Noyes was arrested at the Valley Inn by Patrolman Offenberger
of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 11 Jul 08 at 5:25 pm.
Charles Edward Grodhaus, age 530 ½ High Street, Macksburg,
for disorderly conduct by fighting, a misdemeanor. Grodhaus
was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 11 Jul 08 at 8:30 pm.
Kevin Dale Smith, age 53, 1743 Barnett Ridge Road, Belpre,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Smith was arrested at
his residence by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 11 Jul 08 at 8:43 pm.
Christina Maria Giammona, age 29, 530 ½ High Street,
Macksburg, for disorderly conduct by fighting, a misdemeanor.
Giammona turned herself in to Deputy Sheriff Mankins and was
processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Jul 08 at 9:20
pm.
Tabitha Nicole Santek, age 20, 515 Halcyon Avenue, McConnelsville,
for obstructing justice and for not wearing a seat belt, both
misdemeanors. Santek was arrested in Beverly by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 11 Jul 08 at 12:31 am.
