On 7 Jul 08 the mother of a fifteen year old
Little Hocking resident reported her daughter left their residence
without permission after an argument between the two of them
regarding her daughter’s use of internet chat sites.
The Parkersburg Police Department phoned and said the picked
up the teenager walking barefoot in City Park and issued her
a citation for being out past curfew hours. Deputy Sheriff
Smeeks also requested a summons for the juvenile to appear
in Juvenile Court for being unruly.
On 7 Jul 08 Jared M. Estes, age 23, 30 Coplin
Street, Marietta, reported he was at a party behind the Fox
Den two days ago when he was assaulted for no apparent reason.
Mr. Estes said he introduced himself to a male subject when
he was punched several times in the head. Until Deputy Sheriff
McLeish can interview the alleged suspect, this case remains
under investigation.
On 7 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriffs Malone and Staats
along with the Little Hocking Fire Department responded to
a 911 call at 966 State Route 555, Little Hocking. At the scene,
the home’s resident, Ralph Jeffrey, age 38, and his friend,
Don Sams, age 38, 8128 State Route 328, Stewart, were receiving
treatment for cuts to one of their arms. Both men, each of
whom was intoxicated, stated they decided to cut their arms
with a kitchen knife as a dare. While Jeffrey was arrested
for disorderly conduct by intoxication for his safety, Sams
was issued a minor misdemeanor citation for the same offense.
On 7 Jul 08 the manager of Par Mar #14, 66
Arrowhead Road, Little Hocking, reported she was conducting
an inventory when she determined the business was short $400.
Viewing security footage, the manager observed an employee
she knew as Carla Y. Clark, age 24, 105 State Route 555 Apt.
1, Little Hocking, transferring money from a Coinstar machine
onto a credit card. Though she first denied knowledge of the
theft, Ms. Clark later admitted transferring funds onto her
own credit card because she needed to buy groceries. Consequently,
Deputy Sheriff Rhodes requested a summons for Ms. Clark for
theft.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Richard Glen Newman, age 42, 200 Pennock Drive
Lot 21, Beverly, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Newman
was arrested at Applebee’s in Marietta by Patrolman Blasko
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 7 Jul 08 at 12:24 am.
Andrew Charles Leonard, age 37, 445 Lakeview
Drive, Vincent, for violating the terms of his probation, a
misdemeanor. Leonard was arrested at the office of Probation
Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 7 Jul 08 at 3:52 pm.
Rusty Joe Carsey, age 26, 1919 Mineral Road, New Marshfield,
OH, for theft, a felony. Carsey was picked up in Columbus by
Deputy Sheriff Reeder and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 7 Jul 08 at 4:15 pm.
Ralph Daniel Jeffrey II, age 38, 966 State Route 555, Little
Hocking, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor.
Jeffrey was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Malone
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 7 Jul 08 at
7:20 pm.
Lovell Anthony Schaffer, age 29, 405 Lord
Street, Marietta, for a felony charge of nonsupport of dependants
and for misdemeanor charges of failure to appear at a court
ordered hearing on unpaid fines and violating the terms of
his probation. Schaffer was arrested at his residence by Deputy
Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 7 Jul 08 at 8:30 pm.
