On 4 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff Carr responded to the scene of death of a seventy year old Little Hocking resident. The man’s death appears to be natural; no foul play is suspected.

On 4 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a minor misdemeanor citation to James Cain, age 28, 4605 Butler Street Apt. 7, Parkersburg, for possession of marijuana. A passenger in a vehicle stopped on State Route 7, Mr. Cain was found in possession of a small knife and a small bag of marijuana when Deputy Smeeks patted him down for weapons.

On 4 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio issued a citation to Christopher S. Friend, age 38, 1271 Lynch Church Road, Marietta, for driving under an FRA suspended license, for having a cracked windshield and for operating a vehicle with a registration that expired in November 2006. Deputy Travaglio stopped Mr. Friend on State Route 26 near County House Lane in Marietta Township.

On 4 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriffs Anderson and Rhodes were dispatched to the scene of an assault at 1244 Drag Strip Road, Belpre. The home’s resident, Eric T. Kidder, age 36, said there was no assault involving him and Harold McGraw, age 38, 619 10th Street, Marietta, just that he kicked Mr. McGraw to get him out of the house. Witnesses contradicted Mr. Kidder, saying Mr. McGraw was walking toward the back door when Kidder kicked him in the ribs and continued beating on him. As a result, Deputy Anderson arrested Mr. Kidder for assault and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 4 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff Anderson issued a citation to Adam Wark, age 30, 107 Cheyenne Road, Marietta, for not displaying a front license plate. Deputy Anderson stopped Mr. Wark on State Route 26 near Woodcrest Lane in Marietta Township.

On 4 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio issued a citation to Hollie M. Evans, age 24, 313 Lord Street, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license, for not using a turn signal and for not stopping at a stop sign. Deputy Travaglio stopped Ms. Evans after she failed to stop when turning from Franklin Street onto Putnam Street in Marietta.

On 4 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio arrested Jennifer L. Johnson, age 30, 2355 Sheets Run Drive, New Matamoras, for tampering with drugs, possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia. Stopped for having a cracked windshield, Ms. Johnson consented to a search of her vehicle. During the ensuing search Deputy Travaglio discovered a pill grinder, three and a half Vicodin pills and a straw.

On 4 Jul 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio arrested Christopher E. Byrd, age 20, 9626 State Route 555, Cutler, for underage consumption of alcohol and Donald L. Lott, age 46, 200 Greenhill Road, Marietta, for possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing official business and for disorderly conduct. At the Lawnsdale bar investigating a suspicious vehicle, Deputy Travaglio identified Mr. Byrd, escorted him out of the bar and determined he had been consuming alcohol. Lott, another bar patron, staggered outside, began interfering in Deputy Travaglio’s questioning of Byrd and continued yelling profanities despite repeated orders to cease his actions. In addition, at the time of his arrest Lott had a bag of marijuana in his pocket.

On 4 Jul 08 Lionel Justin Gore, age 21, 130 Cemetery Drive, New Matamoras, began shouting obscenities on Main Street in New Matamoras as Deputies attempted to maintain order during the traditionally drunken festivities. Ignoring requests by Deputy Lockart to halt his behavior, Gore, who painted himself silver and wrote “[expletive] the police” on himself, pulled away as Deputy Lockhart attempted to handcuff him. Gore struggled, kicking Deputy Lockhart in the upper thigh before being detained in the back of a cruiser. As a result of his actions Gore was charged with assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct by intoxication.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Tracy Lynn Lamb, age 40, 1236 Main Street, Stockport, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Lamb was arrested on State Route 60 in Beverly by Sgt. Stackpole of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Jul 08 at 12:07 am.

Christopher Edward Byrd, age 20, 9626 State Route 555, Cutler, for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Byrd was arrested at the Lawnsdale by Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Jul 08 at 1:43 am.

Donald Lloyd Lott, age 46, 200 Greenhill Road, Marietta, for possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing official business and for disorderly conduct, all misdemeanors. Lott was arrested at the Lawnsdale by Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Jul 08 at 1:50 am.

Jason Thaddeus Mace, age 25, 18001 State Route 676, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Mace was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Jul 08 at 12:08 pm.

Jan Lee Henderson, age 47, 33 Wilson Street, Phillipi, WV, for failure to reinstate his operator’s license and for speeding, both misdemeanors. Henderson was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Jul 08 at 12:32 pm.

Daniel Hendrickson Sr., age 54, 775 Gravel Bank Road, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Hendrickson was arrested on Fearing Street in Marietta by Patrolman Warden of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Jul 08 at 2:36 pm.

Jennifer Louise Johnson, age 30, 2355 Sheets Run Drive, New Matamoras, for felony charges of tampering with drugs and possession of drugs and for a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Johnson was arrested on State Route 26 by Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Jul 08 at 3:30 pm.

Trevor Damon Watts, age 39, 400 Herms Court Apt. 15, Barberton, OH, for driving under an FRA suspended license and for speeding, both misdemeanors. Watts was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Jul 08 at 12:32 pm.

Eric Theodore Kidder, age 36, 1244 Drag Strip Road, Belpre, for assault, a misdemeanor. Kidder was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Anderson and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Jul 08 at 11:22 pm.
