On 28 Jun 08 Deputy Sheriff Mankins responded to the scene of death of a seventy-six year old Marietta resident. The man’s death appears natural; no foul play is suspected.

On 28 Jun 08 Lorrie Seevers, age 28, 1014 Lynch Church Road, Marietta, reported two nefarious characters appeared at her residence and were attempting to instigate a fight with her husband. Mrs. Seevers said she was trying to get Adam J. Hadley, age 19, Marietta, and Aaron J. Buckley, age 21, 1200 Lynch Church Road, Marietta, to leave her property when Hadley drew back his fist and threatened to punch her. In the roadway when Deputy Sheriffs Simmons and Staats arrived, Hadley and Buckley both had a strong odor of alcohol and were unsteady on their feet. During the course of their arrests Hadley and Buckley each had to be ordered to stop banging their head on various parts of the cruiser in which they were seated. As a result of the incident Hadley was charged with menacing and underage consumption of alcohol; Buckley was charged with disorderly conduct by intoxication.
