On 23 Jun 08 Deputy Sheriff Thorpe issued a citation to Nicholas J. Maistros, age 23, 1150 Hyannis Drive, Beavercreek, OH, for operating a vehicle with a registration that expired in October 2007. Deputy Thorpe stopped Mr. Maistros on US 50 near State Route 339 in Belpre Township.

On 23 Jun 08 Deputy Sheriff Thorpe issued a citation to Justin D. Denton, age 26, 3895 State Route 676, Stockport, for driving under an FRA suspended license. Deputy Thorpe stopped Mr. Denton on State Route 339 in Barlow Township.

On 23 Jun 08 Sgt. Stackpole and Deputy Sheriffs Spencer and Staats responded to reports of a loud argument in Apartment C at 1096 Clement Avenue in Belpre. Witnesses stated a razor blade may be involved and one of the residents may have cut her own wrist. Knocking on the door, the deputies received no answer but observed a male scurrying into a bedroom. As an emergency measure, Deputy Spencer pried open the apartment door and the deputies questioned Jeffrey R. Martin, age 29, and his girlfriend about the incident. Neither party exhibited any injuries and stated they were merely engaged in a heated argument. Inside the apartment Deputy Staats observed several loose pills Mr. Martin said were from a surgery he had a year ago. Stating he thought the deputies would go away if he didn’t answer the knock at the door, Mr. Martin was arrested for obstructing official business and possession of drugs and transported to the Washington County Jail.

The following individual wAS processed into the Washington County Jail:

Brandon Scott Walters, age 25, 715 Greene Street Apt. A, Marietta, for theft, forgery and for misuse of a credit card, all felonies. Walters was picked up in Licking County by Deputy Sheriff Reeder and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Jun 08 at 1:33 pm.
