On 19 Jun 08 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued
a minor misdemeanor citation to Trent D. Mason, age 19, 121
Collins Road, Marietta, for possession of marijuana. Stopped
for a traffic violation on Seventh Street in Marietta, Mr.
Mason was found in possession of marijuana joints and roaches.
On 19 Jun 08 Teresa A. Singer, age 52, 9578
State Route 555, Cutler, reported a Zune digital media player
was stolen from her residence sometime during the past ten
days. This case remains under investigation (1293).
On 19 Jun 08 a twenty-nine year old Marietta
resident reported she has been receiving threatening and harassing
phone calls from her soon to be ex-husband for the past five
days. This case remains under investigation (1184).
On 19 Jun 08 witnesses at the Devola pool
on River Road reported a ten year old boy exited the driver’s
seat of a minivan after driving the vehicle to the pool. On
this occasion, as well as several others in the past, the child’s
mother exited the passenger side and the boy’s younger
sister exited the back seat. Interviewed at the pool, Lisa
D. Ashcraft, age 39, 403 Keeler Drive, Marietta, confirmed
that she allowed her son to drive the family vehicle from their
home to the pool, a distance of nearly a mile depending on
the route taken. Also questioned, the ten year old said his
mother lets him drive a lot and that he did drive the family
to the pool that afternoon. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Simmons
requested a summons for Ms. Ashcraft for child endangerment
and issued her a citation for allowing an unlicensed driver
to operate her vehicle.
On 19 Jun 08 Donald Hopp, age 50, 9019 Muskingum
River Road, Lowell, reported seeing a male and a female loading
a steel house trailer hitch from his into the back of a truck
and hurriedly leaving the area. Locating the suspect vehicle
nearby, Deputy Sheriff Smeeks conducted a traffic stop and
identified the driver as Amanda R. Mendenhall, age 25, and
her passenger as Gerald R. Erb, age 37, both of 130 Harvest
Run Road, Marietta. In the bed of the truck that was filled
with scrap metal, Deputy Smeeks observed the trailer hitch
as well as wire that was reported missing. Both subjects admitted
loading the items into the truck and stated they did not have
permission to take the items. Mendenhall and Erb were both
arrested for theft and transported to the Washington County
Jail. Mendenhall was also issued a citation for driving under
a twelve point suspended license.
On 19 Jun 08 Karen Hendrickson, age 45, 318
Reynolds Lane, Vincent, reported twenty-three pills of her
recently filled prescription for Tramadol were stolen from
her purse sometime during the past day. This case remains under
investigation (1183).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Roxanne Senee Ward, age 25, 1339 Covert Street, Parkersburg,
for two misdemeanor counts of littering. Ward was arrested
in Marietta by Patrolman Hickey of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
19 Jun 08 at 1:40 am.
Joanna Brooke Manifee, age 18, 1339 Covert Street, Parkersburg,
for possession of drugs, a felony. Manifee was arrested in
Marietta by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Jun 08
at 2:10 am.
Rodney Raymond Moore, age 28, 208 Putnam Avenue,
Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony.
Moore was arrested at the courthouse by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Jun 08
at 10:24 am.
Amanda Renee Mendenhall, age 25, 130 Harvest Run Road, Marietta,
for theft and for driving under a suspended license, both misdemeanors.
Mendenhall was arrested in Marietta by Lt. Wilson of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 19 Jun 08 at 10:06 pm.
Gerald Russell Erb, age 37, 130 Harvest Run Road, Marietta,
for theft, a misdemeanor. Erb was arrested on Muskingum River
Road by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 19 Jun 08 at 10:30 pm.
