On 16 Jun 08 Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio investigated
a domestic dispute involving Denise Wheeler, age 35, 1441 Masonic
Park Road, Marietta, and her husband Freddie, age 34. Mrs.
Wheeler said an argument began the previous day when her husband
saw their son donning a dress while playing with his sister.
Mr. Wheeler’s fulmination of obscenities continued periodically
throughout the day and into the next morning before leaving
work. Mrs. Wheeler stated feared for her safety after her husband
threatened to kill her and that the incident reached a crescendo
that morning when her husband pinned her against and punched
a hole in the wall. Admitting he punched holes in the walls
during the disputed, Mr. Wheeler was arrested for domestic
violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 16 Jun 08 Veronica McLaughlin, age 31,
1310 36th Street, Parkersburg, reported she and a friend were
asleep in the living room of a home on State Route 60 following
a party when she was awakened by two females punching and kicking
her. When her friend attempted to intervene the two females
attacked her as well, kicking them both as they lied on the
floor. This case remains under investigation (500).
On 16 Jun 08 Delbert L. Adams Jr., age 48,
7720 Dalzell Road, Whipple, reported he found half of a tombstone
lying near his vehicle and surmised that vandals used the item
to damage the driver’s side and trunk area of vehicle.

On 16 Jun 08 an employee of Washington Electric
Cooperative, 406 Colegate Drive, Marietta, reported sometime
over the past four days an unknown suspect(s) stole eight sections
of newly installed copper wire from the company’s Bartlett
substation. This case remains under investigation (232).

Dayle Robert Sparks, age 19, 192 Mineral Park
Lane, Mineral Wells, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor.
Sparks was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Patrolman
Hilverding of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 16 Jun 08 at 8:42 am.
Timothy Ray Jett, age 44, 716 Cisler Drive, Marietta, for
OVI, a misdemeanor. Jett was arrested in Marietta Municipal
Court by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 16 Jun 08 at 10:33 am.
Shana Joy Yopp, age 32, 1009 18th Street Apt. D, Vienna, for
possession of drugs and for three counts of trafficking in
drugs, all felonies. Yopp was arrested by Detective Hiatt at
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 16 Jun 08 at 10:48 am.
Freddie Lee Wheeler, age 34, 1441 Masonic
Park Road, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
Wheeler
was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 16 Jun 08 at 1:48 pm.
Lionel J. Hollingsworth, age 19, 35 Meek Avenue, Columbus,
for domestic violence and for criminal damaging, both misdemeanors.
Hollingsworth was picked up in Guernsey County by Deputy Sheriff
Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on
16 Jun 08 at 2:22 pm.
Lisa Mae Pruden, age 26, 4422 State Route 339, Belpre, for
disorderly conduct by fighting, a misdemeanor. Pruden turned
herself in to Detective Hiatt at the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on
16 Jun 08 at 2:35 pm.
