On 14 Jun 08 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks arrested
Joseph A. Bailey, age 45, 10260 State Route 550, Vincent, for
a felony charge of possession of drugs and for misdemeanor
charges of OVI and for having expired license plates. Acting
nervously after he exited his truck, Mr. Bailey could not stand
still, had a flushed face and watery eyes. Despite his claim
of not drinking alcohol he had its distinct odor and performed
poorly on field sobriety tests. At the time of his arrest Mr.
Bailey had two Percocet pills, a Schedule II drug in his pocket.
When transported to the Washington County Jail Mr. Bailey tested
.127 BAC.
On 14 Jun 08 Deputy Sheriff Staats issued
a citation to Seth E. Crouser, age 25, 2936 Lake Road, Fleming,
for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Staats stopped
Mr. Crouser on State Route 7 near milepost seventeen in Warren
Township.
On 14 Jun 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio conducted
a traffic stop on a vehicle on Interstate 77 for having a loud
exhaust. Noticing two open cans of beer in the back of the
vehicle, Deputy Travaglio ordered the four occupants to exit
the car. As the driver, Floyd A. Murphy II, age 41, 7465 Stanleyville
Road, Whipple, and his passengers, identified as Melvin A.
Murphy, age 37, 7465 Stanleyville Road, Whipple, Ralph A. Urbanek
Jr., age 19, and Denise D. Bramer, age 37, both of 7455 Stanleyville
Road, Whipple, exited the car Deputy Travaglio observed a pill
bottle containing marijuana. A further search of the vehicle
yielded another bag of marijuana and also three marijuana pipes.
When questioned, Ms. Urbanek said all of the car’s occupant’s
were marijuana users and that all of them were going to smoke
marijuana when they arrived at Senecaville to camp. All four
of the occupants were arrested for possession of drugs and
for possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to the
Washington County Jail.
On 14 Jun 08 Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio stopped
a vehicle on State Route 26 for traveling across the centerline
on multiple occasions. Seeing that the occupants appeared nervous,
Deputy Travaglio had the occupants exit car and patted down
the two for weapons. In the pocket of the passenger, Chad E.
Bruce, age 30, 389 Muskingum River Road, Marietta, Deputy Travaglio
found a folding knife along with a bag of marijuana. In consequence,
Deputy Travaglio arrested Mr. Bruce for possession of drugs
and possession of drug paraphernalia and transported him to
the Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Gregory Alan Haas, age 46, Muskingum River Road, Lowell, for
driving under a suspended license and for having fictitious
plates, both misdemeanors. Haas was arrested in Lowell by Deputy
Sheriff Staats and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 14 Jun 08 at 12:18 am.
Timothy Jordan Shaw, age 21, 4390 Pleasant Ridge Road, Marietta,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Shaw was arrested on
Gilman Avenue by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
14 Jun 08 at 12:46 am.
Thomas Christopher Burke, age 32, 800 Elder Street, Parkersburg,
for three misdemeanor counts each of possession of drugs and
possession of drug paraphernalia. Burke was arrested on Front
Street by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jun 08
at 3:35 am.
Craig R. Cole, age 20, 428 Strecker Lane, Marietta, for .08
breath OVI, for speeding and for possession of drug paraphernalia,
all misdemeanors. Cole was arrested on State Route 60 by the
Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 14 Jun 08 at 5:47 am.
Milton Roy Roberts Jr., age 40, 2050 Roberts Road, Amesville,
for rape, a felony. Roberts was arrested by Detective Parks
at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 14 Jun 08 at 10:58 am.
Chad Eric Bruce, age 30, 389 Muskingum River Road, Marietta,
for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Bruce was arrested on State Route 26 by
Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 14 Jun 08 at 1:02 pm.
Melvin Arthur Murphy, age 37, 7465 Stanleyville Road, Whipple,
for possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Murphy was arrested on Interstate 77 by
Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 14 Jun 08 at 3:18 pm.
Floyd Allen Murphy II, age 41, 7465 Stanleyville Road, Whipple,
for possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Murphy was arrested on Interstate 77 by
Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 14 Jun 08 at 3:31 pm.
Ralph Anthony Urbanek Jr., age 19, 7455 Stanleyville Road,
Whipple, for possession of drugs and for possession of drug
paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Urbanek was arrested on Interstate
77 by Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 14 Jun 08 at 3:50 pm.
Denise Diana Bramer, age 37, 7455 Stanleyville Road, Whipple,
for possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Bramer was arrested on Interstate 77 by
Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 14 Jun 08 at 4:05 pm.
