On 1 Jun 08 witnesses reported seeing the
residents at 1216 Williamson Avenue Lot C, New Matamoras, fighting
in the doorway of the home. One witness said he saw Shawn P.
Ferris, age 35, and Jennifer M. Caouette, age 31, arguing and
that when Ms. Caouette attempted to leave Mr. Ferris struck
her in the back and threw her into the residence. When interviewed,
Ms. Caouette said Mr. Ferris has assaulted her in the past
and that it was no big deal for him to push her to the ground.
Despite Ms. Caouette’s desire to not pursue charges,
a statement and evidence of domestic violence is sufficient
for arrest. As a result, Mr. Ferris was arrested for domestic
violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 1 Jun 08 Angie Brooker, age 41, 680 Long
Road, Marietta, reported her neighbor, Mark D. Farley,
age 59, 645 Long Road, was brandishing and fired a handgun
in direction of a field where children were playing. Upon the
arrival of Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio, Mr. Farley admitted
firing the gun toward an open field but said he did not know
there were children in that vicinity. Additionally, Mr. Farley
had an odor of alcohol and stated he had been drinking beer
before he shot the gun. As a result, Mr. Farley, who tested
.121 BAC, was arrested for using a weapon while intoxicated
and transported to the Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Benjamin Randall Bruce, age 19, 389 Muskingum River Road,
Marietta, for driving under an FRA suspended license and for
driving outside the marked lanes of travel, both misdemeanors.
Bruce was arrested on State Route 821 by Deputy Sheriff S.
Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on
1 Jun 08 at 1:16 am.
Brandon Edward Allen, age 42, 12740 State Route 676, Waterford,
for passing bad checks, a misdemeanor. Allen was arrested on
State Route 676 in Watertown by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jun 08 at
1:56 am.
Mark Dale Farley, age 59, 645 Long Run Road, Marietta, for
using a weapon while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. Farley was
arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jun 08 at 3:45
pm.
David Ted Alan Schoonover, age 45, 37247 Marietta Street,
Sardis, OH, for felony and misdemeanor charges of domestic
violence. Schoonover was picked up at the Monroe County line
by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 1 Jun 08 at 4:03 pm.
Jonathon Martin Corpman, age 40, 205 Rathbone Road, Marietta,
for gross sexual imposition, a felony. Corpman was arrested
at his residence by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
1 Jun 08 at 5:40 pm.
Chad Robert Parsons, age 28, 530 ½ Fourth Street, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Parsons
was arrested on Lawton Road by Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jun 08 at
7:39 pm.
Michael Deeds Hammond, age 21, 104 Riley Drive Apt. 10, for
failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines,
a misdemeanor. Hammond was arrested at his residence by Patrolman
Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jun 08 at 8:06 pm.
Charlie Thomas Griffith, age 52, 8 Sixth Street, Belpre, for
failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines,
a misdemeanor. Griffith was arrested in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff
Staats and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jun
08 at 10:25 pm.
Shawn Patrick Ferris, age 35, 1216 Williamson Avenue Apt.
C, New Matamoras, for domestic violence, a felony. Ferris was
arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jun 08 at 11:04
pm.
