On 1 Jun 08 witnesses reported seeing the residents at 1216 Williamson Avenue Lot C, New Matamoras, fighting in the doorway of the home. One witness said he saw Shawn P. Ferris, age 35, and Jennifer M. Caouette, age 31, arguing and that when Ms. Caouette attempted to leave Mr. Ferris struck her in the back and threw her into the residence. When interviewed, Ms. Caouette said Mr. Ferris has assaulted her in the past and that it was no big deal for him to push her to the ground. Despite Ms. Caouette’s desire to not pursue charges, a statement and evidence of domestic violence is sufficient for arrest. As a result, Mr. Ferris was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.
