On 30 May 08 an employee of Hometown Honda,
1301 Pike Street, Marietta, reported when he arrived at work
that morning he noticed damage to a stone planter that was
likely caused by impact with as vehicle. The unknown operator
of the vehicle did not leave contact information, hence this
incident remains under investigation (945).
On 30 May 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio conducted
a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Austin W. Wright, age
18, 225 Masonic Park Lane, Marietta, after Mr. Wright nearly
caused a collision when turning onto State Route 60 from Third
Street in Lowell. Questioned regarding his slight odor of alcohol,
Mr. Wright replied that he drank a beer while fishing on the
island in Lowell. At the time he arrested Mr. Wright for underage
consumption of alcohol, Deputy Travaglio discovered a marijuana
pipe fashioned from a 12 mm socket. Also charged with possession
of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, Mr. Wright
was transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 30 May 08 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued
a citation to Jay E. Barker, age 24, 57 Rock Street, Coolville,
for driving under a suspended license. Deputy Smeeks stopped
Mr. Barker on US 50 near Farson Street in Belpre.
On 30 May 08 Deputy Sheriff Norman requested
a summons for Frank M. Stewart, age 44, 1115 Huck Road, Lowell,
for littering. Earlier that morning a Muskingum Township trustee
observed Mr. Stewart throwing timbers and lawn clippings over
the side of Ash Road onto the right of way.
