On 28 May 08 Sgt. Brockmeier requested a summons for a seventeen year old Columbus resident to appear in Juvenile Court for delinquency by falsification. Identifying himself using his older brother’s name, the juvenile was arrested on an active warrant on his brother on 27 May 08. On 28 May 08 Dewaine William Mayle, age 20, Marietta, phoned the Sheriff’s Office to turn himself in on active warrants. Arriving at 201 State Street, Marietta, Deputy Sheriff Day noticed an odor of alcohol on Mr. Mayle. Arrested for the active warrants, Mr. Mayle was also charged with underage consumption of alcohol.

On 28 May 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio conducted a traffic stop on Muskingum Drive after learning the vehicle’s driver had a suspended license. More closely inspecting the vehicle’s temporary tag, Deputy Travaglio noticed the expiration date was altered with a marker. A subsequent search of the vehicle driven by Cameron A. Fisher, age 30, Marietta, revealed four burnt marijuana roaches under the driver’s seat. Charged with driving under suspension, possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, Mr. Fisher was taken into custody. When he returned to interview the passenger, identified as David L. Lamp, age 23, 1370 Lynch Church Road, Marietta, Deputy Travaglio saw a white powder substance around Mr. Lamp’s mouth and that he was chewing something. Lamp later said he ate a handful of Vicodin as to not get caught with it and that there was a pill bottle with two other pills that he was unable to ingest. Also arrested, Lamp was charged with tampering with evidence and possession of drugs. Prior to arriving at the jail, Lamp admitted he had more Vicodin concealed under a bandage on his foot and he attempted to conceal the pills and a small bag of marijuana in the rear of the cruiser. As a result, Lamp was charged with additional counts of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

At that point Mr. Schoonover punched the teenager in the eye and drew his fist back as though he was going to hit her as well. Both victims said they were in fear for their safety and stated Schoonover nearly pulled the phone cord out of the wall before fleeing the home. In consequence, Deputy Eddy requested warrants for felony and misdemeanor charges for Schoonover for domestic violence, as he has a prior conviction of the offense.
