On 25 May 08 Deputy Sheriff Mankins observed
a vehicle parked in a dark area of the Devola soccer fields.
Inquired about his odor of alcohol, the front seat passenger,
Stuart G. Cain, age 19, 319 Fourth Street, Marietta, began
slurring his speech. Mr. Cain professed that he had not been
drinking and that he smelled of alcohol and slurred his words
because of an orthodontic procedure he had last week. Contradictorily,
Mr. Cain registered .140 BAC on a portable breath test. As
a result, Deputy Mankins arrested Mr. Cain for underage consumption
of alcohol and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 25 May 08 David Smith, age 75, 560 High
Street, Macksburg, reported while he was away from his home
between 3:30 pm and 6 pm an unknown suspect(s) cut the screen
from and entered his home through a window. At this time Mr.
Smith said nothing appears missing. This case remains under
investigation (790).
On 25 May 08 Tisha L. Clark, age 27, 171 Washington
Street, Waterford, reported upon arriving at a party on Righteous
Ridge Road she was attacked by her estranged husband and his
sister. Ms. Clark stated as soon as she arrived, Kelly J. Curran,
age 36, 240 Francis Road, Lowell, approached her in an intimidating
manner, began yelling and pushed her. At that point, Ms. Clark
gathered her children, reentered her vehicle and was accosted
by her husband Charles W. Clark, age 31, 5788 Buchanan Road,
Waterford. Before being forcibly restrained by a bystander,
Mr. Clark grabbed his wife’s wrist and tried pulling
her from the car. While Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio arrested
Mr. Clark for domestic violence, she requested a warrant for
Ms. Curran for assault.
On 25 May 08 Deputy Sheriff S. Travaglio issued
a citation to Christine M. Cline, age 50, 2630 Oxbow Road,
Belpre, for operating a vehicle with license plates that expired
in January 2008. Deputy Travaglio stopped Ms. Cline on State
Route 7 near Ayers Boulevard in Belpre Township.
On 25 May 08 Deputy Sheriff Anderson arrested
Ricky J. Ward, age 48, 3725 Bells Run Road, Newport, for domestic
violence. What led to the arrest was an argument earlier that
evening that Mr. Ward had with his wife Angela, age 43, concerning
his amorous activities outside their marriage. At one point
during the fray Mr. Ward pushed his wife, causing her to fall
and hit her head.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Shaun Lee Adkins, age 27, 122 Tennis Center Drive Apt. 7,
Marietta, for being a military deserter. Adkins was arrested
on State Route 7 near Market Street by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25
May 08 at 12:59 am.
Stuart Gregory Cain, age 19, 319 Fourth Street, Marietta,
for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Cain was
arrested in Devola by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 25 May 08 at 4:40 am.
Phillip Conrad Hughes, age 22, 148 Woodland Avenue, Marietta,
for aggravated burglary and assault, both misdemeanors. Hughes
was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Walters of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 25 May 08 at 10:47 am.
Charles William Clark, age 31, 5788 Buchanan Road, Waterford,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Clark was arrested in
Waterford by Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 25 May 08 at 11:52 pm.
