On 22 May 08 Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio responded
to a possible domestic dispute involving Fannie S. Kovacs,
age 27, 780 Grub Road, Marietta, and her mother Faith Page.
Both women said they did argue but no physical altercation
or threat of violence took place. Ms. Page did say however,
that her daughter had a marijuana pipe in her room and consented
to a search of her residence. When questioned, Ms. Kovacs admitted
she smokes marijuana and produced a container from her room
that had a marijuana pipe, marijuana seeds, rolling papers
and seventeen unknown pills inside it. For possessing the items,
Kovacs was arrested for tampering with drugs and for possession
of drug paraphernalia and transported to the Washington County
Jail.
On 22 May 08 Archie D. Curry, 398 Curry Road,
Waterford, reported during the nighttime hours between 19 and
20 May an unknown suspect(s) entered his garage and stole 400
feet of copper wire, 500 feet of other wire, six 1/3 horsepower
motors, two DVD’s and six CD’s. This case remains
under investigation (515, 805).
On 22 May 08 the owner of Gary’s Towing,
1409 Pike Street, Marietta, reported he suspected one of his
employees used a business credit card to purchase gas and parts
for his personal vehicle. Questioned about the questionable
purchases, Jerry R. Klintworth, age 24, 707 ½ Sixth
Street, Marietta, admitted using three of the business’ credit
cards on nine occasions to purchase $740.47 in gasoline between
March and May. Mr. Klintworth also confessed to using a company
credit card to purchase $418.50 worth of parts to repair his
and his girlfriend’s vehicles. Due to the monetary value
of the thefts, Deputy Sheriff Travaglio forwarded a brief to
the Prosecutor’s Office for grand jury consideration.
On 22 May 08 an employee of Washington Electric
Co-op, 406 Colegate Drive, Marietta, reported a resident at
1324 Patten Mills Road in Cutler tampered with an electric
meter the company turned off and has been receiving electricity
without paying for it since April 2002. This case remains under
investigation (1207).
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
Trice J. Darnell, age 21, 818 15th Street,
Parkersburg, for violating the terms of his probation by failing
to pay his fines in full by 2 Jan 08.
Nicole A. Sprouse, age 19, 179 Lubeck Road, Parkersburg, for
failure to appear at a court ordered hearing for unpaid fines
in the sum of $110.50.
James W. Taylor, age 24, 848 Kenwick Road, Columbus, for failure
to appear at a court ordered hearing for unpaid fines in the
sum of $582.40.
Aaron J. Vaughn, age 40, 55 Albright Road, Beverly, for failure
to appear at a court ordered hearing for unpaid fines in the
sum of $1,322.10.
Larry J. Wilson, age 45, 108 Faye Avenue, Marietta, for failure
to appear at a court ordered hearing for unpaid fines in the
sum of $2,618.35.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Aaron James Buckley, age 21, 1200 Lynch Church Road, Marietta,
for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Buckley
was arrested on Pike Street in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22
May 08 at 1:55 am.
Amanda Marie Chestnut, age 41, 11976 Clay Pike Road, Buffalo,
OH, for OVI, speeding, for driving under a suspended license,
possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and for
not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Chestnut was arrested
on US 50 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 22 May 08 at 6:03 am.
Bradford Cline Tallman, age 35, 2702 Division
Street Ext., Parkersburg, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Tallman was
picked up at the North Central Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff
Reeder and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22
May 08 at 10:52 am.
Michael Eugene Packard, age 41, 811 Walnut Street, Belpre,
for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Packard
was arrested at his residence by Lt. Wilson of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 22 May 08 at 3:08 pm.
Randal Gene Murphy, age 47, 51194 State Route 7, New Matamoras,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Murphy turned himself
in to Chief Bourne of the New Matamoras Police Department and
was processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 May 08
at 7:45 pm.
Fannie Sarah Kovacs, age 27, 780 Grub Road,
Marietta, for tampering with drugs and for possession of drug
paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Kovacs was arrested at her residence by
Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 22 May 08 at 9:30 pm.
David Wayne Evans, age 32, 37602 Boone Hollow Road, Dexter
City, for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor.
Evans was arrested in Elba by Deputy Sheriff Staats and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 22 May 08 at 11:26 pm.
