On 21 May 08 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio arrested
Billy A. Babcock, age 31, 165 Killwell Run Road, Marietta,
for driving under an FRA and drug offense suspended license
and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel. Deputy
Travaglio observed Babcock’s vehicle swerve across the
centerline when he turned from State Route 26 onto County House
Lane before crossing back into the westbound lane.
On 21 May 08 Kenneth S. Eddy, age 48, 1205
Newells Run Road, Newport, reported his ex-girlfriend just
left his residence after instigating an argument with him.
Mr. Eddy stated he has a protection order against Rachel L.
Hasley, age 35, 38215 State Route 7, Newport, and provided
a tape recording of a message she left on his answering machine.
Interviewed at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Spencer, Ms.
Hasley admitted instigating an argument with her ex-boyfriend.
As a result, Deputy Spencer arrested Ms. Hasley for violating
the terms of a protection order and transported her to the
Washington County Jail.
On 21 May 08 Lisa M. Pruden, age 26, 312 Fifth
Street, Beverly, reported she was moving belongings out of
her former residence when her former roommate attacked, choking
and striking her. Receiving conflicting information from the
suspect and a witness, Deputy Sheriff K. Travaglio will conduct
further investigation.
On 21 May 08 Marie Dawson, age 38, 12895 State
Route 676, Waterford, reported an individual attempted to purchase
a vehicle from her with a check that nowhere had his name on
it. Further investigation revealed the check was likely stolen
in Parkersburg after being mailed from one party to another.
The check was seized and sent to the Parkersburg Police Department
as evidence for their investigation (805, 792)
On 21 May 08 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio arrested
Britton P. Robinette, age 20, 1201 County House Lane Apt. E,
Marietta, for underage consumption of alcohol, for failure
to obey a traffic control device and for driving outside the
marked lanes of travel. Stopped on Pike Street for not stopping
at a red light at the Interstate 77 intersection, Mr. Robinette
had a slight odor of alcohol and an open can of Budweiser on
the floor behind his seat. When questioned, Robinette said
he drank the beer while at his residence minutes before being
stopped.
On 21 May 08 Deputy Sheriff Tucker issued
a citation to Matthew J. Cornell, age 24, 704 Elm Street Apt.
10, Belpre, for driving under a suspended license. Deputy Tucker
stopped Mr. Cornell on State Route 7 near milepost eighteen
in Warren Township.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Kayla Ann Lovejoy, age 21, 1354 Race Circle,
Zanesville, for driving under a suspended license and for possession
of drugs, both misdemeanors. Lovejoy was arrested near milepost
ten on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 21 May 08 at 6:00 pm.
Ryan David McFann, age 23, 105 State Route 555 Apt. 5, Little
Hocking, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
McFann was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 May 08
at 6:40 pm.
Billy Allen Babcock, age 31, 165 Killwell Run Road, Marietta,
for two counts of driving under a suspended license and for
driving outside the marked lanes of travel, all misdemeanors.
Babcock was arrested on County House Lane by Deputy Sheriff
Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on
21 May 08 at 7:10 pm.
Gary David Collins, age 43, 2128 McTaggert
Street, Belpre, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Collins
was arrested at RJF
by Lt. Canavan of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 May 08
at 7:20 pm.
Alicia Dawn Miller, age 24, 209 Fifth Street Ext., Lowell,
for failure to appear and for contempt of a court order, both
misdemeanors. Miller was arrested at her residence by Deputy
Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 21 May 08 at 8:30 pm.
Rachel Lea Hasley, age 35, 38215 State Route 7, Newport, for
violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor. Hasley
was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Spencer and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 May 08 at 11:45
pm.
Britton Paul Robinette, age 20, 1201 County House Lane Apt.
E, Marietta, for underage consumption of alcohol, for failure
to obey a traffic control device and for driving outside the
marked lanes of travel, all misdemeanors. Robinette was arrested
on Pike Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 May 08 at 11:55
pm.
