On 5 May 08 Detective Hiatt issued a citation
to Jacob W. Walker, age 22, 165 Hendricks Street, Newport,
for operating a vehicle with registration that expired in October
2007. Detective Hiatt stopped Mr. Walker on State Route 7 near
Mitchell’s Lane in Marietta Township.
On 5 May 08 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart issued
a citation to Christopher Conner, age 28, 309 Moss Street,
New Straightsville, OH, for traveling 60 mph in a 50 mph zone.
Deputy Lockhart stopped Mr. Conner on State Route 7 near Braun
Road in Belpre Township.
On 5 May 08 the principal at Little Hocking
Elementary School, 95 Federal Road, Little Hocking, reported
an unknown suspect painted graffiti on the back of two dugouts
at the school’s ball field. Acting on a tip, Deputy Sheriff
Carr interviewed the fourteen year old suspect in the case.
The teenager stated he was bored Friday night and decided to
spray paint “LHC” on the dugouts because he thought “Little
Hocking Crew” was a cool name for a group. As a result,
Deputy Sheriff Carr requested a summons for the teenager to
appear in Juvenile Court for being delinquent.
On 5 May 08 Corrections Officer Farrell requested
a warrant for Jason A. Ritchie, age 23, 109 Scammel Street,
Marietta, for a felony charge of assaulting a law enforcement
officer. While incarcerated at the jail the day before, Ritchie
charged out of his cell when a corrections officer opened the
door and attempted to tackle him. A struggle ensued and the
officer utilized his Taser to gain control of the suspect until
help arrived. The corrections officer was not injured during
the incident.
The following
individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Justin Bryce Davis, age 25, 416 Arnold Road,
Lowell, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Davis was arrested in Lowell by
Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 5 May 08 at 11:57 am.
James Clair Schwendeman, age 24, 402 ½ Scammel Street,
Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Schwendeman was arrested at his residence by Probation Officer
Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on
5 May 08 at 7:39 pm.
