On 2 May 08 Lt. Wilson issued a citation to
Jon E. Preston, age 27, 2615 10th Avenue, Parkersburg, for
operating a vehicle with an inoperable license plate light.
Lt. Wilson stopped Mr. Preston on State Route 7 near Joe Skinner
Road in Dunham Township.
On 2 May 08 an employee of Par Mar, 11785
State Route 7, Marietta, reported two days ago that a customer
attempted to pay for $20 in gas with a debit card that was
declined three times. The customer claimed he would return
to pay the bill but had yet to do so. Contacted by Deputy Sheriff
Anderson, the customer paid the bill later that day and apologized
for the delay. The business then declined to pursue charges
in the matter.
On 2 May 08 Bill Jacobs, age 46, 122 Tennis
Center Drive Apt. 39, Marietta, reported sometime during the
night an unknown suspect(s) removed the front and rear license
plates (Ohio DYZ3078) from his vehicle. This case remains under
investigation (1106).
On 2 May 08 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio issued
citations for parking on roadway to the individuals listed
hereafter who were parked near Guernsey Scrap Recycling
on Sheets Run Road in Newport Township.

Helena Denise Riggs, age 34, 1455 East Branch
Road, Lowell, for OVI, driving left of center and for failure
to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, all misdemeanors.
Riggs was arrested on Virginia Street in Marietta by the Ohio
State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 2 May 08 at 3:05 am.
Jeremy Warrior Coleman, age 23, 7188 Dale
Road, Stockport, for driving under a twelve point suspended
license, for having faulty taillights and for operating a vehicle
without license plates, all misdemeanors. Coleman was arrested
near milepost fifteen on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 May
08 at 5:55 pm.
Jeffry Ryan Voycik, age 25, 1665 Glendale Road, Marietta,
for theft, a felony. Voycik turned himself in to Deputy Sheriff
Eddy and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 2
May 08 at 8:05 pm.
Herman James Dalton, age 22, Coolville Road, Reedsville, OH,
for violating the terms of his probation, a felony. Dalton
was arrested in Belpre by Probation Officer Smith and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 2 May 08 at 12:05 am.
