On 30 Apr 08 the principal of the school at Calvary Community Church, 100 First Lane, Belpre, reported an angry parent was at the school causing a commotion. The principal said Paul Naylor, age 47, 44 Whippoorwill Ridge Road, Waverly, WV, was upset over discipline meted out to his son for not wearing a tie and when Mr. Naylor arrived at the school that morning he threw a tie in his face. Mr. Naylor’s tirade continued thereafter and he proceeded to swear in front of a group of children and spit at the feet of the principal. As a result of the incident, Deputy Sheriff Carr requested a summons for Mr. Naylor for disorderly conduct.

On 30 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a citation to Beth A. Lantz, age 26, 23380 Dixon Road, Coolville, for operating with a driver’s license that expired in February 2007. Deputy Smeeks stopped Ms. Lantz on State Route 339 near milepost four in Dunham Township.

On 30 Apr 08 Troy P. Lowe, age 39, 15671 State Route 60, Lowell, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect entered his unlocked truck and stole his recently filled prescription bottles of Keflex and Vicodin. This case remains under investigation (792).

On 30 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks arrested Kevin Robert Bartlett, age 43, 204 Tennis Center Drive Apt. 9, Marietta, for burglary, .17 breath OVI, telephone harassment and criminal damaging. At 12 am that morning a thirty-four year old Vincent resident reported Bartlett would not stop phoning and texting her messages. Later that morning the victim said she awoke to see Mr. Bartlett standing above her and her sleeping male companion. Mr. Bartlett left the residence angrily, puncturing and flattening the tires of a van parked outside. Bartlett continued messaging the victim until he arrived back at the residence while Deputy Smeeks was taking the report. Visibly intoxicated, Bartlett admitted phoning the victim despite being asked no to do so but claimed he entered the residence only to retrieve a cell phone.

On 30 Apr 08 Lt. Wilson issued a citation to Keith J. Lowe, age 19, 1990 State Route 339, Belpre, for traveling 67 mph in a 50 mph zone. Lt. Wilson stopped Mr. Lowe on US 50 near Braun Road in Belpre Township.

On 30 Apr 08 Mike Snider, age 45, 1818 Hickman Road, Waterford, reported he has not seen his twenty year old son for approximately twenty-four hours. Mr. Snider phoned the following day and stated his son returned home unharmed.

Ruben Bucio-Cortes, age 22, 2655 W. Broad Street Apt. A, Columbus, for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $285.

Richard A. Carter Jr., age 19, 5353 Rifle Drive, Canal Winchester, for trafficking in cocaine in the vicinity of a school on 25 Feb 08.

Andrew J. Cordell, age 28, 9040 Stoneburner Road, Crooksville, OH, for issuing a bad check to Muskingum Valley Hardware for $213.99 on 6 Feb 08.

Larry N. Mausali, age 1325 Spring Street, Parkersburg, for possession of marijuana on 17 Apr 08.

Johnathan E. Porter, age 29, 4152 N. Early Ridge Road, McConnelsville, for driving under a suspended license and for not stopping at a stop sign on 11 Apr 08.

Melissa D. Sampson, age 38, 1195 Graham Road, Cutler, for issuing a bad check to White Oak Pharmacy for $33 on 24 Dec 07.

Dana B. Curry, age 36, 1005 State Route 555, Little Hocking, for violating the terms of his probation.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Ronald Dean Welch Jr., age 38, 209 Fearing Street, Marietta, for burglary and for possession of criminal tools, both felonies. Welch was arrested on Franklin Street in Marietta by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Apr 08 at 4:47 am.

Kevin Robert Bartlett, age 43, 204 Tennis Center Drive Apt. 9, Marietta, for a felony charge of burglary and for misdemeanor charges of .17 breath OVI, telephone harassment and criminal damaging. Bartlett was arrested on Tick Ridge Road by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Apr 08 at 9:13 am.

Jeffrey Lynne Byrd, age 51, 48 McAtee Street, Cutler, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Byrd was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Apr 08 at 12:29 pm.

Rhonda Gayle McFann, age 40, 4215 Brandeberry Road, Coolville, for assault, a misdemeanor. McFann was picked up in Athens County by Deputy Sheriff Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Apr 08 at 6:24 pm.

Harold Lee Sanders, age 35, 3414 118th Street, Cleveland, for breach of recognizance and for failure to appear, both felonies. Sanders was picked up in Cleveland by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Apr 08 at 7:00 pm.
