On 29 Apr 08 Charles B. Grosselin, age 35, 160 Crestwood Court, Belpre, reported when he arrived at work at the Barlow Car Wash in the early evening, Vickie S. Turner, age 46, 9383 Veto Road, Belpre, pulled her vehicle in behind him and would not move. Mr. Grosselin stated that Ms. Turner is aware that he has a protection order against her and that she directed a number of hand gestures toward him. Deputy Sheriff Rhodes interviewed Ms. Turner, who said she saw Mr. Grosselin but claimed she has a protection order against him. A computer check contradicted Ms. Turner’s claim, resulting in her arrest for violating the terms of a protection order.

On 29 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio attempted to execute an arrest warrant on Richard W. Hawkins, age 38, Franklin Street in Marietta. An individual identified as Christopher R. Karcher, age 28, 45 Caywood Road, Marietta, answered the door and claimed that Mr. Hawkins was not home. However, Deputy Sheriff Carr observed Mr. Hawkins through a rear window. Deputy Carr attempted to enter the residence, at which time Karcher grabbed him in an effort to impede his progress. A brief struggle ensued and resulted in Karcher’s arrest for obstruction of justice. Arrested for the active warrant, Hawkins was transported to the Washington County Jail along with Karcher.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Corey Lee Smearman, age 19, 111 Montgomery Street Lot 10, for five felony counts of trafficking in drugs and for a misdemeanor count of failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines. Smearman was arrested at his residence by Detective Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Apr 08 at 10:10 am.

Kayleigh Quinn Ryder, age 22, 11030 Rainbow Lake Road, Athens, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Ryder was picked up at the Athens County line by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Apr 08 at 12:16 pm.

Mary Beth Wilson, age 27, 1008 Fifth Street, Marietta, for theft, forgery and misuse of a credit card, all felonies. Wilson turned herself in to Corrections Officer Heddleston and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Apr 08 at 12:25 pm.

Richard Wesley Hawkins, age 38, 134 Franklin Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Hawkins was arrested on Franklin Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Apr 08 at 1:18 pm.

Christopher Robert Karcher, age 28, 45 Caywood Road, Marietta, for obstruction of justice, a misdemeanor. Karcher was arrested on Franklin Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Apr 08 at 1:35 pm.

Vernon Gerald Ross, age 58, 1575 Main Street, Stockport, for theft, a misdemeanor. Ross was arrested on in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Apr 08 at 2:06 pm.

Cynthia Kay Dailey, age 33, 1125 Greene Street, Marietta, for felony charges of theft and forgery and for a misdemeanor charge of violating the terms of her probation. Dailey was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Apr 08 at 3:15 pm.

Ronald Wayne Gilbert, age 43, Marietta, for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor. Gilbert was arrested in Marietta by Detective Hawkins of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Apr 08 at 6:02 pm.

Vickie Sue Turner, age 46, 9383 Veto Road, Belpre, for violating the terms of a protection order, a misdemeanor. Turner was arrested in Barlow by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Apr 08 at 7:10 pm.
