On 23 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a citation to Michael J. Babcock, age 31, 470 Cornerville Road, Marietta, for traveling 62 mph in a 40 mph zone and for failure to reinstate his operator’s license. Deputy Smeeks stopped Mr. Babcock near milepost eleven on State Route 550 in Barlow Township.

On 23 Apr 08 a Fearing Township trustee reported finding three bags of trash in the vicinity of 1500 Stanleyville Narrows Road. This case remains under investigation (1020).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Lawrence Eugene Erb, age 42, 209 Fifth Street, Lowell, for OVI, for violating the terms of a protection order and for failure to control, all misdemeanors. Erb was arrested on State Route 530 by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Apr 08 at 1:40 am.

Michael Alan Lightfritz, age 27, for receiving stolen property, a felony. Lightfritz was picked up at the Lancaster Correctional Institution by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Apr 08 at 2:49 pm.

Richard Dexter Arnett, age 64, 52608 Union Street, Hannibal, OH, for receiving stolen property, for operating with an expired license and for having fictitious plates, all misdemeanors. Arnett was arrested on Second Street in New Matamoras by Chief Bourne of the New Matamoras Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Apr 08 at 3:00 pm.

Joshua Daniel Campbell, age 23, 107 Sixth Street, Beverly, for disorderly conduct by fighting, a misdemeanor. Campbell was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Hunter of the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Apr 08 at 6:25 pm.

Chad Eric Bailey, age 28, 1209 Cisler Drive Apt. C, Marietta, for burglary, a felony. Bailey was arrested on Muskingum Drive in Marietta by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Apr 08 at 11:25 pm.
