On 21 Apr 08 Brian E. Barnhart, age 43, 100 Winters Drive, Marietta, reported while he was at work during the day an unknown suspect(s) entered his home and stole more than ten guns, a DVD player and a CD player. This case remains under investigation (296).

On 21 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Carr issued a citation to Matthew Haggy, age 33, 17517 Plantsville Road, Amesville, for passing on a double yellow line. Deputy Carr observed Mr. Haggy pass another vehicle while traveling southbound on Waterford Road near milepost three in Muskingum Township.

On 21 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued a citation to Jarrod A. Serzynski, age 21, Route 2 Box 106, Elizabeth, WV, for operating a vehicle without a license. Deputy Smeeks stopped Mr. Serzynski for having only one headlight near milepost seven on US 50 in Belpre Township.

On 21 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio encountered a slow moving vehicle on State Route 7 near Sheets Run Road towing a vehicle with a chain. The driver of the lead vehicle, impeding the travel of fifteen vehicles, was identified as Danielle N. Southerly, age 24, 105 Oakwood Avenue, Marietta. Ms. Southerly, whose license was suspended, stated she was looking at a property to rent at 29800 State Route 7, Marietta, when she saw a Pontiac sedan she believed was abandoned. Deputy Travaglio determined that Darin S. Miller, age 31, 1185 Browns Road, saw Ms. Southerly across the street from his residence and the two decided to tow the vehicle, sell it for scrap and split the proceeds. Mr. Miller, also under a suspended license, was operating the Pontiac being towed with a chain and admitted he broke a window to enter the car. He further explained that he used a screwdriver in his possession to unblock the steering column and place the vehicle in gear. While both were arrested for driving under suspended licenses and automobile theft, Miller was also charged with vandalism and possession of criminal tools.

On 21 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Day arrested Tiffany M. Conant, age 19, 2975 State Route 26, Marietta, for possession of drugs. Responding to Ms. Conant’s home in reference to a domestic dispute, Deputy Day was informed Ms. Conant was in possession of Xanax. When asked, Ms. Conant revealed a cellophane wrapper containing one and a half Xanax pills.

On 21 Apr 08 Robbin Winstanley, age 50, 821 Masonic Park Road, Marietta, reported she paid $600 for a reconditioned vehicle transmission on eBay and the seller has ignored her repeated requests to ship the item. This case remains under investigation (1097).

On 21 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio issued a citation to Debra E. Pritchett, age 50, 240 Kerr Run Road, Newport, for passing on a double yellow line. Deputy Travaglio stopped Ms. Pritchett near Bear Creek Road on State Route 60 in Muskingum Township.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Helena Denise Riggs, age 34, 1455 Branch Road, Lowell, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Riggs was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Apr 08 at 10:09 am.

Scott Alan Hines, age 44, 615 Montgomery Street, Marietta, for assault, a felony. Hines was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Warden of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Apr 08 at 12:40 pm.

Joshua Scott Gibson, age 23, 710 Front Street Apt. 1, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, for driving under a suspended license, reckless operation and for not having a motorcycle endorsement, all misdemeanors. Gibson was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Apr 08 at 2:15 pm.

Danielle Nicole Southerly, age 24, 105 Oakwood Avenue, Marietta, for a felony charge of theft and for a misdemeanor charge of driving under a suspended license. Southerly was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Apr 08 at 2:30 pm.

Darin Shawn Miller, age 31, 29775 State Route 7, Marietta, for felony charges of theft, possession of criminal tools and vandalism and for misdemeanor charges of driving under a suspended license and operating a vehicle without license plates. Miller was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Apr 08 at 3:30 pm.

Harold Eugene Flanagan, age 41, 12395 State Route 213, Irondale, OH, for nonsupport of dependants, a misdemeanor. Flanagan was picked up in Jefferson County by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Apr 08 at 4:27 pm.

Tiffany Maria Conant, age 19, 2975 State Route 26, Marietta, for possession of drugs, a misdemeanor. Conant was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Day and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Apr 08 at 9:49 pm.
