On 20 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Carr issued a
citation to Anthony Canter, age 183 Morris Loop Road, Marietta,
for traveling 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Carr stopped
Mr. Canter on State Route 550 near Dodd Run Road in Warren
Township.
On 20 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio arrested
Karl E. Preston, age 53, 836 Pike Street Apt. 17, Marietta,
for OVI and for failing to reinstate his operator’s license.
Observing Mr. Preston’s vehicle weaving over the center
line then abruptly turning without signaling, Deputy Travaglio
stopped the vehicle near Sandhill Road on State Route 7. Mr.
Preston subsequently performed poorly on field sobriety tests
and provided a BAC sample of .145. Arrested as well was Jason
E. Wolfe, age 35, 836 Pike Street Apt. 3, Marietta, for consuming
alcohol in a vehicle. Wolfe was found in possession of an open
can of Busch Light he said he was drinking in the car.
On 20 Apr 08 Glenna D. Ray, age 56, 100 Ellsworth
Drive, Marietta, reported sometime over the past week an unknown
suspect entered her home and stole several morphine, Claritin
and Phenergan pills that belonged to her recently deceased
husband. This case remains under investigation (1184).
On 20 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriffs Smeeks and Staats
responded to a domestic disturbance involving Larry Haught
Jr., age 28, 565 Dodd Run Road, Marietta, and his live-in girlfriend
Mary McKitrick, age 30. Both of the involved parties were heavily
intoxicated and began arguing at the Outskirts bar that evening.
Back at their residence, a physical altercation occurred, during
which McKitrick and Haught suffered scratches and abrasions.
Unable
to determine the primary aggressor in the incident, McKitrick
and Haught were both arrested for domestic violence and transported
to the Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jason Eugene Wolfe, age 35, 836 Pike Street Apt. 3, Marietta,
for consuming alcohol in a vehicle, a misdemeanor. Wolfe was
arrested at Farm Fresh in Reno by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Apr 08
at 1:42 am.
Karl Eric Preston, age 53, 836 Pike Street Apt. 17, Marietta,
for OVI and for failing to reinstate his operator’s license,
both misdemeanors. Preston was arrested at Farm Fresh in Reno
by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 20 Apr 08 at 2:00 am.
Larry Dale Haught Jr., age 28, 555 Dodd Run Road, Marietta,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Haught was arrested at
his residence by Deputy Sheriff Staats and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 20 Apr 08 at 4:39 am.
Mary Elizabeth McKitrick, age 30, 107 Vine Street, Marietta,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. McKitrick was arrested
on Dodd Run Road by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 20 Apr 08 at 7:57 am.
Carrie Jo Morris, age 31, 108 Riley Drive Apt. 5, Marietta,
for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Morris turned herself
in at the Sheriff’s Office to Deputy Sheriff Carr and
was processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Apr 08
at 1:30 pm.
William Joseph Ryan, age 35, 5413 Garden Lake Drive, Greensboro,
NC, for OVI and for speeding, both misdemeanors. Ryan was arrested
near milepost sixteen on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20
Apr 08 at 9:30 pm.
Jessica Raeann Lang, age 20, 14941 Pinewood Trail Road, Newark,
OH, for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Lang
was arrested on Knox Street in Marietta by Patrolman Newell
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 20 Apr 08 at 11:40 pm.
