On 11 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Anderson issued
a citation to Daryl Bowersock, age 40, 21185 State Route 26,
Wingett Run, for driving with an expired license. Deputy Anderson
stopped Mr. Bowersock on State Route 7 near Greene Street in
Newport Township.
On 11 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio issued
a minor misdemeanor citation to Troy E. Lightfritz, age 21,
208 Brittigan Circle, Marietta, for being in possession of
an open container of alcohol. Deputy Travaglio observed Mr.
Lightfritz walking southbound on State Route 60 with an open
forty ounce bottle King Cobra beer.
On 11 Apr 08 Robert McCutcheon, age 34, 156
McCutcheon Lane, Cutler, reported two tree stands and a deer
feeder were stolen from his seven acre property sometime since
February of this year. This case remains under investigation
(586).
On 11 Apr 08 Shelborn W. Cale, age 90, 306
Snearly Drive, Marietta, struck his neighbor’s home at
305 Snearly Drive after backing his vehicle out of his driveway.
Mr. Cale claimed he tried placing his Mercury Sable into the
drive position when the vehicle jumped a foot off the ground.
The vehicle allegedly landed, accelerated in a circle in reverse
and struck his neighbor’s home with the rear of his vehicle.
Deputy Sheriff Eddy referred Mr. Cale for a driver’s
exam, as Mr. Cale claimed this was the fourth Sable he had
that “jumped.” No injuries were reported as a result
of the collision.
On 11 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Eddy responded
to the scene of a domestic dispute at 21 Garden City Road,
Marietta. The victim, Alicia Burton, age 31, stated during
an argument her live-in boyfriend Preston Walters, age 26,
struck her in the face with the zipper end of a pillow, threw
her onto a couch and pressed his hand over her nose and mouth,
briefly suffocating her. Viewing Ms. Burton’s injuries,
Deputy Eddy located Mr. Walters at his employer, arrested him
for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington
County Jail.
On 11 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio arrested
Joseph K. Elliott, age 43, 401 Third Street, Leachburg, PA,
for possession of cocaine and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Stopped for not stopping at a stop sign at the intersection
of Park Street and State Route 339, Mr. Elliott was visibly
nervous and shaking. Asked about his behavior, Mr. Elliott
informed Deputy Travaglio that there were two bags with cocaine
residue on the floor and a mirror with cocaine residue under
the driver’s seat. A more intensive search of the vehicle
also yielded a straw with cocaine residue that Mr. Elliott
said he used to snort cocaine off the mirror.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Joseph Kelly Elliott, age 43, 401 Third Street,
Leachburg, PA, for a felony charge of possession of drugs and
for misdemeanor charges of possession of drugs and possession
of drug paraphernalia. Elliott was arrested on State Route
339 by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 11 Apr 08 at 9:35 am.
Johnathan Elwood Porter, age 29, 4152 Early Ridge Road, McConnelsville,
for nonsupport of dependants and for driving under a suspended
license, both misdemeanors. Porter was arrested in Macksburg
by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 11 Apr 08 at 10:05 am.
April Ruth Hill, age 32, 216 Main Street, Lowell, for violating
the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Hill was arrested
in Beverly by Chief Brockmeier of the Beverly Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Apr 08
at 1:53 pm.
Jarrod Michael Bauerbach, age 28, 200 Pennock Drive Lot 63,
Beverly, for possession of drugs, a felony. Bauerbach was arrested
on Front Street in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 11 Apr 08 at 8:30 pm.
Preston Jay Walters, age 26, 21 Garden City Road, Marietta,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Walters was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Eddy and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 11 Apr 08 at 9:06 pm.
Stephen Robert Sands, age 21, 112 Knox Street Apt. 24, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Sands
was arrested on Front Street in Marietta by Patrolman Huffman
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 11 Apr 08 at 11:55 pm.
