On 10 Apr 08 William E. Wharton, age 80, 106
Gregg Street, Marietta, reported he was operating a tractor
in a field he owns at 18025 State Route 821 when an arm on
his tractor struck an electric pole. Mr. Wharton said the tension
on the pole’s electric wires increased and the pole snapped,
falling in the opposite direction of the tractor. Mr. Wharton
was uninjured during the incident (1106).
On 10 Apr 08 a frantic female reported an
unknown male forced his way into her home when she answered
a knock at her door. When Deputy Sheriffs Lockhart and McLeish
arrived at the residence of Stephanie Walker, age 19, at 27254
State Route 7, Marietta, the suspect was still inside. The
suspect, identified as Herbert L. Nunn II, age 33, 121 Brant
Drive, Marietta, refused to comply with commands and was forcibly
removed from the residence and onto the ground. Further investigation
revealed Nunn, who is a registered sex offender and had glassy
and bloodshot eyes, went inside Ms. Walker’s residence,
took off his shirt, opened the refrigerator and proceeded to
drink Ms. Walker’s beer. Recovered from Mr. Nunn’s
possession was a guitar case containing unopened cans of beer
from Ms. Walker’s refrigerator. Arrested for burglary,
resisting arrest and disorderly conduct by intoxication, Nunn
was transported to the Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Brett Eric Shank, age 39, Marietta, for violating
the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Shank was arrested
at Marietta Memorial Hospital by Patrolman Hanson of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 10 Apr 08 at 7:54 am.
Mark Nicholas Adams, age 20, 668 Calder Ridge
Road, Belpre, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Adams was arrested on Phillips Street in Marietta by Deputy
Sheriff Lockhart and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 10 Apr 08 at 3:50 pm.
Casey Lee Hoover, age 22, 165 Meadows Mobile Home Park, Parkersburg,
for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Hoover was arrested on Phillips
Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 10 Apr 08 at 4:00 pm.
Herbert Leroy Nunn II, age 33, 121 Brant Drive, Marietta,
for felony charges of burglary and violating the terms of his
probation and for misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest,
for disorderly conduct by intoxication and failure to appear
at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines. Nunn was arrested
at the Reno Motel by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 10 Apr 08 at 10:06 pm.
