On 3 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Spencer issued a citation to Heather D. May, age 19, 47020 State Route 7, Graysville, for driving on a closed roadway. Deputy Spencer stopped Ms. May on the section of State Route 7 in Newport Township that is closed due to a rock slide.

On 3 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Staats responded to a noise complaint at 105 State Route 555 Apt. 5 in Little Hocking. Inside the apartment in plain view, Deputy Staats observed a green marijuana pipe and a small quantity of marijuana. Despite his claim that the contraband belonged to his brother, the apartment resident, Ryan D. McFann, age 23, was arrested for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 3 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds arrested Joshua D. Pugh, age 22, 1490 Pugh Road, Stockport, for disorderly conduct. Mr. Pugh was arrested for his safety after family members reported hearing him make numerous threats to harm himself.

On 3 Apr 08 Michael J. Babcock, age 31, 470 Cornerville Road, Marietta, reported sometime during the night an unknown suspect entered his vehicle and stole four bottles of prescription medication, a cellular phone, a climbing harness, a toolbox and tools, a grinder, a saw, a cordless drill and a climbing rope. The total loss is estimated at $2,295. This case remains under investigation (1184).

On 3 Apr 08 a thirty-five year old Little Hocking resident reported being threatened by a neighbor because he allegedly lodged a complaint against the neighbor with the Sheriff’s Office. This case remains under investigation (586).

RAPE SUSPECT ARRESTED

Yesterday officers with the Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau interviewed an eleven year old female. The victim stated on numerous occasions over the past two years the suspect, who she identified as Paul K. Christopher, age 38, 1756 Barth Road, Marietta, touched her inappropriately both under and on top of her clothes. In one particular incident in October 2006, the victim said Mr. Christopher removed her pants and underwear and touched her inappropriately by having sexual contact. This information was partially confirmed through investigative techniques. During an interview this afternoon, Mr. Christopher denied any impropriety and refused to speak further. Mr. Christopher was charged with a first degree felony count of rape of a child under thirteen years of age. He is being held without bond pending his initial appearance in court tomorrow.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Ryan David McFann, age 23, 105 State Route 555, Little Hocking, for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. McFann was arrested in Little Hocking by Deputy Sheriff Staats and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Apr 08 at 5:00 am.

Paul Kenneth Christopher, age 38, 1756 Barth Road, Belpre, for rape, a felony. Christopher was arrested at his residence by Lt. Schuck of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Apr 08 at 2:51 pm.

Ryan Evan Hayes, age 30, 133 Harris Avenue, Columbus, for driving under an OVI suspended license, a misdemeanor. Hayes was picked up at the Franklin County jail by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Apr 08 at 3:45 pm.

Joshua Dayton Pugh, age 22, 1491 Pugh Road, Stockport, for disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. Pugh was arrested on Giffin Road in Cutler by Deputy Sheriff Reynolds and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Apr 08 at 7:00 pm.

Rachella Suzanne Walker, age 30, 708 Front Street Apt. 16, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Walker was arrested at her residence by Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Apr 08 at 7:00 pm.

Shawn Norman Bonar, age 32, 134 Whipkey Drive, Waterford, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Bonar was arrested at his residence by Lt. Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Apr 08 at 7:50 pm.

Christopher Shaw McMannis, age 38, 38190 Keithtown Road, Caldwell, for OVI, driving under a suspended license, for not wearing a seat belt and for failure to signal, all misdemeanors. McMannis was arrested on State Route 60 in Beverly by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 3 Apr 08 at 8:55 pm.
