On 1 Apr 08 at almost 1 am, Deputy Sheriff
Rhodes encountered an individual on Washington Street in Marietta
riding a bicycle without any lights and weaving all over the
roadway. The bicyclist, Jerimy A. Stewart, age 31, 717 Eighth
Street, Marietta, had a strong odor of alcohol and stated he
drank about ten beers at a bar that evening. Reviewing the
Ohio Revised Code, Deputy Rhodes determined Mr. Stewart did
not fit the statute to warrant arrest for OVI. As a result,
Deputy Rhodes transported Mr. Stewart to his mother’s
residence for the evening and issued him a citation for disorderly
conduct by intoxication.
On 1 Apr 08 Deputy Sheriff Malone requested
a summons for Leo W. Lynch, age 59, 9534 State Route 550, Vincent,
for failing to report a vehicle crash involving damage to property.
An employee of Barlow Township, Mr. Lynch struck a support
beam of the Bell covered bridge while he was clearing snow
for the township on 8 Mar 08. Mr. Lynch stated he did not report
the incident because he didn’t think he caused any damage
to the structure.
On 1 Apr 08 Tammy Waybright, age 48, 317
Hutchins Road, New Matamoras, reported while she was out of
town for a brief period she believes her adult son stole and
pawned her VCR, a DVD player, four rings and two bracelets.
Even though she thinks her son needs taught a lesson, Ms. Waybright
declined to pursue charges (1097).
On 1 Apr 08 Kelly Bauerbach, age 50, 3080
Buchanan Road, Waterford, reported her tenant at 3201 Buchanan
Road informed her that the property’s 500 gallon propane
tank was stolen sometime since 30 Mar 08. This case remains
under investigation (1001).
The following
individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Sean Wayne Smith, age 18, 628 Center Bend Road,
Beverly, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor. Smith
was picked up in McConnelsville by Deputy Sheriff Eddy and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Apr 08 at 12:58
pm.
Charles Franklin West, age 47, 627 Front Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. West was arrested on Front Street in
Marietta by Patrolman Hilverding of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
1 Apr 08 at 5:24 pm.
Daniel Gary West, age 35, 301 Blennerhassett Avenue Lot A,
Belpre, for violating the terms of his parole, a felony. West
was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Davis of the Belpre
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 1 Apr 08 at 7:31 pm.
Deidra Michelle Wriston, age 27, 95 Lang Farm Road, Marietta,
for driving under an FRA suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Wriston was arrested on State Route 60 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Apr
08 at 9:54 pm.
