On 28 Mar 08 a twenty-six year old Vincent resident reported two females have been phoning her residence for the past two months and ignore her repeated requests to quit calling. This case remains under investigation (296).

On 28 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriff Anderson issued a citation to Randall R. Hatch, age 27, 7226 Roberts Road, Athens, for operating a vehicle with plates that expired in December 2007. Deputy Anderson stopped Mr. Hatch near milepost three on State Route 550 in Wesley Township.

On 28 Mar 08 Bruce Gearhart, age 45, 195 N. Bruce Street, Little Hocking, reported being assaulted by his wife Kathy, age 44. Mr. Gearhart said his wife confronted him at a friend’s residence, slapped him and also grabbed the top of his head and nearly pulled out a handful of hair. Deputy Sheriff Anderson confirmed Mr. Gearhart’s allegations with witnesses, arrested Mrs. Gearhart for domestic violence and transported her to the Washington County Jail.

On 28 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to a seventeen year old Lowell resident for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Mankins stopped the teenager near milepost seven on State Route 60 in Muskingum Township.

On 28 Mar 08 Nellie F. Scott, age 89, 5001 State Route 60, Marietta, reported her eighty-five year old roommate at Heartland of Marietta hit her in the arm with a phone and yelled and cursed at her. This case remains under investigation (1184).

On 28 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriff Anderson issued a citation to Timothy A. Thompson, age 23, 1311 Cisler Lane, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license. Deputy Anderson stopped Mr. Thompson near milepost two on State Route 550 in Wesley Township.

On 28 Mar 08 Clyde Law, age 73, 4930 State Route 339, Vincent, reported a ten foot section of steel pipe was stolen from his farm on Two Mile Run Road in Cutler. This case remains under investigation (586).

On 28 Mar 08 a resident on Radabaugh Road in Marietta reported the mother of three neighboring children, all under the age of eleven, left the children alone at 8 pm the previous evening and had not returned as of 9:30 that morning. Deputy Sheriff Malone referred this case to Children’s Services for further investigation.

ATHENS COUNTY DRUG TRAFFICKING ARREST

An Athens County resident is incarcerated in the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail after Agents with the Major Crimes Task Force conducted controlled buys involving cocaine and Vicodin. On 21 and 25 Feb 08, Mark A. Wolfe, age 32, 26021 Rock Street, Coolville, sold a confidential informant a total of 18.6 grams of cocaine and eight 7.5 mg Vicodin tablets. Released from prison in September 2007 and on parole after serving time for felonious assault, Wolfe was arrested on 26 Mar 08. Wolfe is being held on third and fourth degree felony charges of trafficking in cocaine and two fifth degree felony charges of trafficking in Vicodin.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Dwayne E. Wilson Jr., age 18, 731 Center Street, Beverly, for assault, a misdemeanor. Wilson was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Mar 08 at 1:21 am.

Marty Lewan Bass, age 38, 702 Franklin Avenue, Belpre, for two felony counts of possession of drugs and for misdemeanor charges of possession of drugs and driving under a suspended license. Bass was arrested on State Route 60 near Colegate Drive by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Mar 08 at 2:38 am.

Kevin Wesley Houck, age 25, 1915 Silver Globe Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Houck was arrested at his residence by Probation Officer Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Mar 08 at 10:50 am.

Al Legrande Smith, age 28, 720 30th Street Apt. 4, Parkersburg, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Smith was arrested on Putnam Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Mar 08 at 11:41 am.

James Trent King, age 43, PO Box 151, Waterford, for passing bad checks, a misdemeanor. King was arrested in Lowell by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Mar 08 at 8:15 pm.

Kathy Joann Gearhart, age 44, 195 Bruce Street, Little Hocking, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Gearhart was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Anderson and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Mar 08 at 9:50 pm.

Travis Lloyd Cunningham, age 23, 9550 State Route 550, Vincent, for violating the terms of his probation, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines and for failure to appear, all misdemeanors. Cunningham was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Mar 08 at 10:50 pm.

Paulette Ellen Bailey, age 43, 309 Lord Street, Marietta, for nonsupport of dependants, a misdemeanor. Bailey was arrested at the West Side Carryout by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Mar 08 at 10:35 pm.
