On 18 Mar 08 Robert Dunbarger, age 49, 710
Dunbarger Road, Lowell, reported while he was at work an unknown
suspect(s) kicked in a side door to his garage, gained entry
into his home and stole two shotguns, a rifle, a muzzleloader
and a handgun. This case remains under investigation (500).
On 18 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio conducted
a traffic stop near Browns Road after observing that the vehicle
had a large crack going across the driver’s view and
that the drivers side red rear reflector was broken. Identifying
the driver as Justin A. Zinser, age 19, 1208 County House Lane
Apt. A, Marietta, Deputy Travaglio noted that he appeared disoriented
and that his eyes were red and watery. Furthermore, Deputy
Travaglio smelled an odor of burnt marijuana and noticed the
other two passengers, Robin J. Richards, age 20, State Route
550, Barlow, and Tiffany A. Lightfritz, age 19, 1208 County
House Lane Apt. A, Marietta, also appeared disoriented. A subsequent
search of the vehicle yielded a bag of marijuana, rolling papers
and a burnt marijuana joint that Lightfritz stated they all
smoked prior top the stop. Since none of the suspects admitted
being the owner of the contraband, all were arrested for possession
of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia and transported
to the Washington County Jail.
On 18 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriff Staats arrested
Rebecca R. Lowe, age 21, 1990 State Route 339, Belpre, for
possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. A
passenger in a vehicle stopped for speeding on State Route
7, Ms. Lowe revealed a straw containing a white residue, an
unlabeled prescription bottle with twenty-three pills inside
and another five pills in a plastic bag. Contacting Poison
Control, Deputy Staats identified the pills as Lortab, a Schedule
III narcotic.
LUCK OF THE IRISH ELUDES CRACK PEDDLERS; FIVE
ARRESTED
On 17 Mar 08 Agents with the Major Crimes
Task Force conducted the first in a series of two controlled
purchases of crack cocaine at the residence of Kenneth H. Epps,
age 47, 122 Sunset Lane, Marietta. During the transaction,
Agents observed Epps approach a van registered to Paula L.
Hadley, age 44, 1235 County House Lane, Marietta, across the
street from his home and return to complete the drug sale with
3.38 grams of crack cocaine. A second buy last night was conducted
in a similar fashion, with Epps retrieving 4.37 grams of crack
cocaine to sell to a confidential informant.
After the sale was completed uniformed officer
of the Marietta City Police Department conducted a traffic
stop on Hadley Lane near Glendale Road. Interviewing the passengers,
one of whom was the van’s owner Paula Hadley, officers
located crack cocaine in a quantity less than five grams. Hadley
admitted during an interview that she sold crack to Epps a
couple of times this week. Other passengers in the van and
their respective charges stemming from this incident were Julie
A. Hupp, age 31, 715 Lynn Street, Marietta, for complicity
to traffic in cocaine; Richard H. Haught Jr., age 48, 513 Smith
Street, Marietta, for possession of less than one gram of crack
cocaine; and Tytus L. Shields, age 19, Marietta, for a active
warrants in Columbus for receiving stolen property and for
failure to appear.
For his involvement in the drug sales, Epps
was charged with two fourth degree felony counts of trafficking
in cocaine. Hadley was charged with two counts of trafficking
in cocaine as well as possession of cocaine. Of interest, the
crack cocaine seized during the arrests was colored with green
food coloring in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day and
also in an effort to avoid police detection.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Allan Dale Allman, age 49, 8345 Glendale Road, Marietta, for
driving under an OVI suspended license and for traveling outside
the marked lanes of travel, both misdemeanors. Allman was arrested
on Glendale Road in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar 08 at 1:20
am.
Michelle Marie Curran, age 20, 1135 Latrobe Street, Parkersburg,
for three felony counts of possession of drugs. Curran was
picked up in Clark County, Nevada by Deputy Sheriff Underwood
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar 08
at 2:00 am.
Chad Daley Laplante, age 31, 1514 ½ Gihon
Road, Parkersburg, for two felony counts of trafficking in
drugs. Laplante turned himself in to Corrections Officer Reeder
and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar
08 at 10:45 am.
Paul Michael Elliott, age 43, Marietta, for OVI and for operating
a vehicle without a license, both misdemeanors. Elliott was
arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar 08
at 12:55 pm.
Matthew James Farmer, age 21, 2018 29th Street NE, Canton,
for failing to reinstate his operator’s license, speeding,
possession of drug paraphernalia and for not wearing a seat
belt, all misdemeanors. Farmer was arrested on Interstate 77
by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 18 Mar 08 at 5:29 pm.
Seth Thomas Adams, age 23, 981 Gilman Avenue, Marietta, for
domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Adams turned himself in to
by Patrolman Hively at the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar 08
at 6:10 pm.
Julie Ann Hupp, age 31, 715 Lynn Street, Marietta, for complicity
in trafficking in drugs, a felony. Hupp was arrested in Marietta
by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar 08
at 6:31 pm.
Paula Lynne Hadley, age 44, 1235 County House Lane, Marietta,
for possession of drugs and for two counts of trafficking in
drugs, all felonies. Hadley was arrested on Hadley Lane in
Marietta by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar 08
at 6:56 pm.
Richard Henry Haught Jr., age 48, 513 Smith Street, Marietta,
for possession of drugs, a felony. Haught was arrested on Hadley
Lane in Marietta by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
18 Mar 08 at 7:19 pm.
Russell Sean Haverty, age 38, 264 Radabaugh Road, Marietta,
for violating the terms of a protection order and for domestic
violence, both felonies. Haverty was arrested on Barth Road
by Deputy Sheriff Spencer and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 18 Mar 08 at 7:35 pm.
Tytus Lamarr Shields, age 19, Marietta, for failure to appear,
receiving stolen property and for obstructing official business,
all misdemeanors. Shields was arrested on Hadley Lane by Lt.
Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar 08 at 8:03
pm.
Kenneth Harold Epps, age 47, 122 Sunset Lane, Marietta, for
two felony counts of trafficking in drugs. Epps was arrested
at his residence in Marietta by Patrolman Newell of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 18 Mar 08 at 8:41 pm.
Rebecca Renee Lowe, age 21, 1990 State Route 339, Belpre,
for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Lowe was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy
Sheriff Staats and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 18 Mar 08 at 11:50 am.
Tiffany Anne Lightfritz, age 19, 1208 County House Lane Apt.
A, Marietta, for possession of drugs and possession of drug
paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Lightfritz was arrested at
Cedar Barks Apartments by Lt. Canavan of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 19 Mar 08 at 12:07 am.
