On 17 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio was
dispatched to an apartment in Marietta where a forty year old
woman attempted suicide by ingesting bottles of Klonopin and
Soma. The Reno Fire Department transported the victim to Selby
Hospital for treatment and evaluation.
On 17 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriffs Eddy and Tucker
responded to a report of a fire in the lunch room at Eramet
on State Route 7 in Marietta. An Eramet employee stated the
fire originated on the inside of a refrigerator and that no
one was injured during the incident. This case was forwarded
to the State Fire Marshall’s Office for further investigation.
On 17 Mar 08 David Hughes, age 44, 28 Town
Hall Road, Marietta, reported while his family was away from
their residence the previous day an unknown suspect(s) entered
the home and stole two packs of cigarettes, over $20 in cash
and a water jug containing approximately $200 in change. This
case remains under investigation (1020).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Christopher Leroy Smith, age 41, 625 Briggs Hill Road, Belpre,
for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Smith
was arrested on Beach Drive in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Carr
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Mar 08
at 12:29 am.
Chelsea Danielle Nelson, age 20, Brister Road, Coolville,
for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Nelson was arrested on
Main Street in Belpre by Patrolman Clevenger of the Belpre
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 17 Mar 08 at 1:30 am.
Wayne Anthony Rhodes, age 19, 820 Mill Branch
Road, Belpre, for five misdemeanor counts of failure to appear.
Rhodes was arrested at 5009 Kidder Drive in Belpre by Lt. Huffer
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 17 Mar 08 at 1:45 pm.
James Joseph O’Connell, age 50, 1205 County House Lane
Apt. E, Marietta, for violating the terms of his parole, a
felony. O’Connell was arrested at the office of Probation
Officer Smith and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 17 Mar 08 at 2:30 pm.
Scott James Freeman, age 26, 35332 Hanson Road, Beverly, for
failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines,
a misdemeanor. Freeman was picked up at the Noble County Jail
by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 17 Mar 08 at 3:15 pm.
Mitchell Jay Potts, age 31, 30534 Township Road 340, Lower
Salem, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Potts was arrested near milepost three on Interstate 77 by
the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 17 Mar 08 at 4:54 pm.
Joel Daniel Dixon, age 48, 31 Dixon Hollow Road, Beverly,
for OVI, for not wearing a seat belt, for having a cracked
windshield and for having an inoperable license plate light,
all misdemeanors. Dixon was arrested on State Route 60 in Beverly
by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 17 Mar 08 at 9:40 pm.
