On 15 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriffs Eddy and Mankins
investigated reports of a suspicious individual lurking about
in the vicinity of Longacre Street in Reno. Deputy Eddy located
the suspect entering a room at the Reno Motel and smelled marijuana
emanating from an open window. Given permission to search the
room, Deputy Mankins located a marijuana pipe and six Xanax
pills in a pocket on Joseph B. Knowlton, age 26, PO Box 134,
McConnelsville. Deputy Eddy searched another of the room’s
occupants, Daniel E. Christopher, age 32, 975 Mount Tom Road,
Marietta, and discovered twenty-two Xanax pills in a plastic
bag. As a result, Knowlton and Christopher were both arrested
for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia
and transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 15 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Alison M. Blaze, age 28, 6435 Hamden Road, Parma
Heights, OH, for traveling 72 mph in a 50 mph zone. Deputy
Mankins stopped Ms. Blaze on US 50 near Clement Avenue in Belpre
Township.
On 15 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriff Reynolds requested
a summons for a fifteen year old Marietta resident to appear
in Juvenile Court for delinquency by disorderly conduct. Angry
that his brother would not change the television channel, the
teenager became verbally abusive and pushed his older brother
to the floor.
On 15 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Kenna R. Ellison, age 32, 421 Poplar Avenue,
Williamstown, for operating a vehicle with license plates that
expired in July 2007. Deputy Mankins stopped Ms. Ellison on
Warren Chapel Road near Chainey Run Road in Warren Township.
On 15 Mar 08 a forty-five year old Lowell
resident reported his seventeen year old daughter is receiving
unwanted phone calls and text messages. Deputy Sheriff Mankins
closed this case as unfounded after learning the teenager placed
calls to the suspect unbeknownst to her father.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Daniel Edward Christopher, age 32, 975 Mount Tom Road, Marietta,
for possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Christopher was arrested at the Reno Motel
by Deputy Sheriff Eddy and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 15 Mar 08 at 10:05 am.
Joseph Brett Knowlton, age 26, PO Box 134, McConnelsville,
for possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Knowlton was arrested at the Reno Motel
by Deputy Sheriff Eddy and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 15 Mar 08 at 10:05 am.
Paul Franklin Newbanks Jr., age 50, 7923 Veto Road, Belpre,
for OVI, for driving under an OVI suspended license, for driving
outside the marked lanes of travel, for possession of drugs
and for violating the terms of his probation, all misdemeanors.
Newbanks was arrested near milepost fifteen on State Route
7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 15 Mar 08 at 3:00 pm.
Ross Lester Phillips III, age 21, 309 Maple Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear, for having fictitious plates and for
not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Phillips was arrested
near milepost three on State Route 60 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 15
Mar 08 at 8:05 pm.
