On 10 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Paul F. Bauer, age 57, 45 Allen Drive, Pittsburgh,
for traveling 69 mph in a 50 mph zone. Deputy Mankins stopped
Mr. Bauer on US 50 near Clement Avenue in Belpre Township.
On 10 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio responded
to a disturbance reported at 772 Greene Street, Newport. Arguing
with his wife over paperwork he removed from the home, Denny
Kukich, age 35, said his wife, Lindsay, age 28, left a red
mark on his neck when she tried grabbing the paperwork from
him. Both continued arguing and fulminated profanities but
neither struck the other party. Citing the fact that neither
was in fear for their safety, Deputy Travaglio requested summonses
for Mr. and Mrs. Kukich for disorderly conduct by fighting.
On 10 Mar 08 Sgt. Underwood and Deputy Sheriff
Eddy were dispatched to the scene of a domestic dispute involving
Eric Kidder, age 36, and his girlfriend Shannon Mitchell, age
34, at their residence at 1244 Drag Strip Road, Belpre. The
Deputies learned Kidder and Mitchell had been drinking all
day ands were verbally abusing each other in the presence of
three children. Observing a marijuana pipe Mr. Kidder admitted
he used to smoke marijuana, Sgt. Underwood arrested Kidder
for possession of drug paraphernalia for disorderly conduct
by intoxication. Ms. Mitchell continued to threaten Kidder
in the presence of Deputies despite repeated orders to cease
doing so. As a result, Ms. Mitchell was arrested for disorderly
conduct by failing to cease and desist and transported to the
Washington County Jail with Mr. Kidder.
FOUR PERSONS ARRESTED AND TEN OUNCES OF COCAINE
SEIZED
Four persons were arrested Monday night
10 Mar 08 in the Macksburg Ohio area by agents of the Parkersburg
Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force and the Washington
County Major Crimes Task Force for trafficking in cocaine.
Investigators believe the suspects arrested were part of
an organization from Detroit and Cleveland working in concert
with persons located in the Parkersburg/Marietta area to
distribute large amounts of cocaine.
As a result of the arrests, during which
uniformed Deputies and members of the Sheriff’s Office
Special Response Team assisted, Agents seized approximately
ten ounces of powdered cocaine with a street value of approximately
$56,000. The arrests were considered significant in curtailing
the influx of powder cocaine within the Parkersburg/Marietta
areas. The arrest began around 10 pm when these individuals
met an undercover operative in a parking lot located off
Exit Sixteen of Interstate 77 in Macksburg:
Derrill King Jr., age 18, 9383 Dixie Road, Redford, MI;
Helena R. Reid, age 26, 11661 Kentucky Street, Detroit,
MI;
Leonard D. Collins, age 40, 6907 Faust, Detroit, MI;
Mario R. Johnson, age 28, 14271 Lauder Street, Detroit,
MI;
The four suspects remain incarcerated without
bond on second degree felony charges related to complicity
and trafficking in cocaine. Parkersburg and Washington County
Task Force members are continuing the investigation and anticipate
further arrests.
The Parkersburg Violent Crimes and Narcotic’s
Task Force is composed of the Parkersburg and Vienna Police
Departments, Wood County Sheriff’s Office and the West
Virginia State Police.
The Washington County Major Crimes Task
Force is composed of the Athens, Morgan, and Washington County
Sheriff’s Offices; Athens, Marietta and Belpre Police
Departments; the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Identification;
and the Athens, Morgan and Washington County Prosecuting
Attorney’s Offices.
The following individual
wAS processed into the Washington County Jail:
Thomas Joseph Cline, age 33, 865 Smith Hill
Road, Marietta, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor.
Cline was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Coppernoll
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 10 Mar 08
at 2:51 pm.
