On 5 Mar 08 Patricia J. Christopher, age
72, 728 Wells Road, Waterford, reported sometime since mid-January
an unknown suspect stole a gold charm bracelet, a pearl necklace
and four other jewelry items at a loss of over $2,500. This
case remains under investigation (1184).
On 5 Mar 08 an eployee of Rebay Recyclers,
17943 State Route 7, Marietta, reported overnight an unknown
suspect(s) broke open a bale of crushed aluminum cans, placed
the items in garbage bags and fled the unsecured business.
This case remains under investigation (1090).
On 5 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriff Spencer issued
a citation to Timothy S. Mackey, age 27, 1249 Sealy Ridge
Road, Vincent, for driving under a suspended license. Deputy
Spencer stopped Mr. Mackey on State Route 124 at Federal
Road in Belpre Township.
On 5 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriff Anderson issued
a citation to Ferid Velagic, age 41, 2041 Ridgecrest Road
SE Apt. 7, Grand Rapids, MI, for operating a vehicle with
plates that expired in January 2008. Deputy Anderson stopped
Mr. Velagic on Interstate 77 near milepost thirteen in Salem
Township.
On 5 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriff Staats arrested
Paul Wray, age 24, 207 25th Street, Cambridge, for driving
under an OVI suspended license and Mikeal H. Clodfelter,
age 24, 136 Meadowpark Drive Apt. F, Cambridge, for possession
of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputy Staats
conducted a traffic stop on Mr. Wray’s vehicle after
noticing the vehicle’s muffler was dragging and the
windshield was broken. Patting down Mr. Clodfelter for weapons
after Deputy Staats’ canine indicated the presence
of drugs in the vehicle, Deputy Lockhart discovered a small
bag of marijuana and a pack of rolling papers.
On 5 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriff Mankins arrested Martin R. Aguirre, age 39, 1800
Route 422 E Lot 3, Fenelton, PA, for giving false information to avoid a
ticket, for failure to reinstate his operator’s license and for operating
a vehicle without license plates. Stopped for not having a front license
plate, Mr. Aguirre gave his brother’s name to Deputy Mankins when first
questioned. Further inquiries revealed Mr. Aguirre’s true identity
and that his license is under a twelve point suspension.
On 5 Mar 08 Deputy Sheriffs Smeeks and Anderson stopped
a vehicle driven by James A. Ramsey, age 22, 105 Rhae Drive,
Sutton, WV, for traveling 74 mph in a 65 mph zone. While
a computer check indicated Mr. Ramsey’s license was
suspended, Deputy Smeeks noticed an odor of alcohol coming
from the vehicle. Questioned regarding the open bottle
of beer between his feet, the front seat passenger, Greg
L. Marks, age 24, 448 Joes Run Road, Burnsville, WV, stated
the beer was his and he was drinking it in the vehicle.
As the rear seat passenger, Mark A. Ramsey, age 23, 1595
Sutton Lane, Sutton, WV, exited the vehicle a bottle of
beer at his feet spilled, at which time he admitted he
was also drinking in the vehicle. Marks and Mark Ramsey
were arrested for consuming alcohol in a vehicle and along
with James Ramsey, who was arrested for driving under suspension,
were transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 5 Mar 08 an employee of White Oak Dental, 400 White
Oak Professional Drive, Barlow, reported the practice received
a check for $33 for services rendered on 24 Dec 07 and
the check was returned for non-sufficient funds. This case
remains under investigation (8411).
MAJOR CRACK COCAINE SEIZURE
Three suspects are incarcerated in the Washington
County Jail awaiting their initial court appearance after
being arrested earlier this morning on charges related to
trafficking in crack cocaine. Prior to arresting the suspects,
Task Force Agents conducted a controlled purchase of 1.86
grams of crack cocaine at the residence of Michelle R. Oldfield,
age 41, 27400 State Route 7 Lot 50, Marietta.
Subsequent to the controlled purchase Agents
executed a search warrant at the residence and recovered
marked currency used in the transaction from Donmiano M.
Gray, age 22, 2449 Queens Wood Drive, Columbus. Additionally
in the bedroom where Mr. Gray was, Agents found 91.82 grams
(3.24 ounces) of crack cocaine which has a street value in
excess of $15,000. The nearly quarter pound of crack marks
the largest seizure of the drug in Washington County history.
During the search warrant, Ms. Oldfield also had 2.07 grams
of crack in her possession. Present as well at the residence
during the controlled buy was Demetrius Glen Haley, age 23,
2381 Delavan Drive, Columbus. He was arrested later at the
Super 8 motel in Marietta.
The suspects and their respective charges
are:
Michelle Oldfield, for trafficking in cocaine
and for possession of cocaine, both fourth degree felonies;
Donmiano Gray, for a trafficking in cocaine, a fourth degree felony and for
possession of cocaine, a first degree felony;
Demetrius Haley, for trafficking in cocaine, a fourth degree felony;
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Donmiano Marque Gray, age 22, 2449 Queens Wood Drive, Columbus,
for possession of drugs and for trafficking in drugs, both
felonies. Gray was arrested at Southgate Trailer Park by Detective
Warden of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 08 at 1:55
am.
Michelle Rae Oldfield, age 41, 24700 State Route 7 Lot 50,
Marietta, for possession of drugs and for trafficking in drugs,
both felonies. Oldfield was arrested at Southgate Trailer Park
by Detective Warden of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar
08 at 2:15 am.
Demetrius Glen Haley, age 23, 2381 Delavan Drive, Columbus,
for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Haley was arrested at the
Super 8 motel by Detective Warden of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 5 Mar 08 at 3:05 am.
Angela Dawn Day, age 30, 565 BF Goodrich Road,
Marietta, for nonsupport of dependants, a misdemeanor. Day
was arrested at the courthouse by Lt. Coppernoll of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 5 Mar 08 at 9:36 am.
Amanda Marie Chestnut, age 41, 11976 Clay Pike Road, Buffalo,
OH, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines and for to counts of failure to appear, all misdemeanors.
Chestnut was picked up in Noble County by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 08 at
9:58 am.
Miguel Antonio Gomez, age 28, 5426 Flora Creek Apt. A3, Columbus,
for operating without a license and for following too closely,
both misdemeanors. Gomez was arrested on Interstate 77 by Deputy
Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 5 Mar 08 at 11:25 am.
Mikeal Hayes Clodfelter, age 24, 136 Meadowpark Drive Apt.
F, Cambridge, for possession of drugs and possession of drug
paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Clodfelter was arrested on
Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Staats and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 08 at 11:30 am.
Paul GB Wray, age 24, 207 25th Street, Cambridge, for driving
under an OVI suspended license, a misdemeanor. Wray was arrested
on Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Staats and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 08 at 11:43 am.
Clarence Otto Jeffers II, age 44, 107 Muskingum Drive, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Jeffers
was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Brockmeier
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 08 at
2:00 pm.
Greg Lee Marks, age 24, 448 Joes Run Road, Burnsville, WV,
for consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor. Marks
was arrested on Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Anderson and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 08 at 2:00
pm.
James Anthony Ramsey, age 22, 105 Rhae Drive, Sutton, WV,
for operating a vehicle without a license, a misdemeanor. Ramsey
was arrested on Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Anderson and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 08 at 2:00
pm.
Mark Andrew Ramsey, age 23, 1595 Sutton Lane, Sutton, WV,
for consuming alcohol in a vehicle, a misdemeanor. Ramsey was
arrested on Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Anderson and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 08 at 2:00 pm.
Ryan Lee Adams, age 21, 2110 Christy Road, Marietta, for violating
the terms of his probation, a felony. Adams was picked up at
SEPTA by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 08 at 2:22 pm.

Eugene Francis Heiss, age 52, 14640 Muskingum River Road,
Lowell, for driving under an OVI suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Heiss was arrested on Fourth Street in Beverly by Patrolman
Oliver of the Beverly Police Department and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 08 at 5:20 pm.
Thai Renee Friend, age 27, 196 Buckhannon Pike, Clarksburg,
WV, for possession of drugs and for speeding, both misdemeanors.
Friend was arrested on Second Street in Marietta by Patrolman
Hickey of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 08 at 10:30 pm.
Robert Michael Russell, age 18, 3275 Highland Ridge Road,
Lowell, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor.
Russell was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Mar 08 at
11:20 pm.
