On 24 Feb 08 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued
a citation to William E. Wilkinsen, age 38, 1527 Blaine Avenue,
Cambridge, for traveling 75 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Smeeks
stopped Mr. Wilkinsen on State Route 7 near milepost fourteen
in Warren Township.
On 24 Feb 08 Deputies arrested Marty L. Bass,
age 38, 702 Franklin Avenue, Marietta, and Jennifer D. Morgenstern,
age 37, 105 Caywood Road, Marietta. Stopping the vehicle for
running a stop sign and for not signaling, Deputy Staats’ canine
indicated the presence of drugs. During the stop, Bass, who
was a passenger in the vehicle, was found to have a bag of
suspected crack cocaine in his pocket and admitted a jar of
clear liquid in the car contained moonshine. Told he was under
arrest, Bass took flight and fled despite orders to stop. Bass
was apprehended behind a residence on Seventh Street in Marietta
and continued to struggle. Deputies gained compliance and forced
Bass into the back of a patrol car. For his efforts Bass was
charged with escape, possession of drugs, resisting arrest,
obstructing official business and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Morgenstern, the driver of the vehicle, was issued a citation
for the traffic violations and arrested for possession of drugs
and possession of drug paraphernalia. An eyeglass case was
found in Morgenstern’s purse that she admitted was her
marijuana.
On 24 Feb 08 Roger D. Miller, age 61, 1945
Moody Ridge Road, Vincent, reported between 20 and 23 Feb an
unknown suspect(s) punctured three of the four tires on a minivan
he recently purchased. This case remains under investigation
(610).
On 24 Feb 08 Ronald D. Frame, age 65, 909
State Route 555, Little Hocking, reported sometime over the
past two weeks two ladder tree stands, an entry gate and a
motorized deer feeder were heavily damaged. From the farming/hunting
property at 1540 Cornes Road in Little Hocking, Mr. Frame also
stated two additional tree stands were stolen. This case remains
under investigation (200).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Lonnie Duane Dalrymple Jr., age 23, 1308 Williamson Avenue
Apt. 1E, New Matamoras, for disorderly conduct by intoxication,
a misdemeanor. Dalrymple was arrested on State Route 7 by Sgt.
Parks of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 24 Feb 08 at 12:15 am.
Michael Ray Hardie, age 24, 3300 Sandhill Road, Marietta,
for contempt of a court order, for driving under a suspended
license and for driving outside the marked lanes of travel,
all misdemeanors. Hardie was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy
Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 24 Feb 08 at 5:30 pm.
Jennifer Dawn Morgenstern, age 37, 105 Caywood Road, Marietta,
for possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia,
failure to signal and for not stopping at a red light, all
misdemeanors. Morgenstern was arrested on Seventh Street by
Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 24 Feb 08 at 9:30 pm.
Marty Lewan Bass, age 38, 702 Franklin Avenue, for felony
charges of escape and possession of drugs and for misdemeanor
charges of resisting arrest, obstructing official business
and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bass was arrested on
Seventh Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Feb 08 at 9:40
pm.
Terje Lee Blackwell, age 40, 1601 Hill Street, Belpre, for
a felony charge of violating the terms of his parole and for
a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence. Blackwell was arrested
at his residence by Patrolman Stump of the Belpre City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
24 Feb 08 at 10:55 pm.
