On 19 Feb 08 Deputy Sheriff Staats issued
a citation to Timothy J. McFarland, age 41, 1116 38th Street,
Parkersburg, for traveling 74 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy
Staats stopped Mr. McFarland on State Route 7 near milepost
eleven in Belpre Township.
On 19 Feb 08 Deputy Sheriff Spencer investigate
a witness report of a group of suspicious individuals in the
vicinity of Belpre Brick at 4962 School House Road in Little
Hocking. The witness stated one of the individuals also appeared
to have a rifle wrapped in a blanket. Prior to interviewing
the suspects, Deputy Spencer patted them down for weapons and
discovered contraband. In the pocket of Jeremy N. Dye, age
24, 607 21st Street, Vienna, Deputy Spencer found a small bag
of marijuana and in the pants pocket of Matthew S. Dye, age
20, 179 Lubeck Road Apt. 21, Lubeck, WV, he located a glass
marijuana pipe. The driver of the vehicle, Nicole A. Sprouse,
age 19, 179 Lubeck Road, Parkersburg, said she was at her mother’s
home across the street to feed a horse and pointed Deputy Spencer
to the location of the rifle in the trunk. Deputy Spencer confirmed
the weapon was unloaded, had the bolt removed and was safe
for transport. While Deputy Spencer arrested Jeremy and Matthew
Dye for respective charges of possession of marijuana and possession
of drug paraphernalia, he issued Ms. Sprouse a citation for
having fictitious plates.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Hank Allan Wells, age 20, 9299 State Route
555, Cutler, for aggravated vehicular assault and for failure
to comply with the order/signal of an officer, both felonies.
Wells was picked up at the Noble Correctional Institution by
Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 19 Feb 08 at 1:10 pm.
Jeremy Nathan Dye, age 24, 607 21st Street, Vienna, for possession
of drugs, a misdemeanor. Dye was arrested on School House Road
by Deputy Sheriff Spencer and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 19 Feb 08 at 7:01 pm.
Matthew Shane Dye, age 20, 179 Lubeck Road Apt. 21, Lubeck,
WV, for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Dye
was arrested on School House Road by Deputy Sheriff Spencer
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Feb 08
at 7:11 pm.
