On 16 Feb 08 Deputy Sheriff Anderson issued citations to Justin D. Tabler, age 24, 320 Fox Avenue, Zanesville, for driving under a suspended license and for possession of marijuana. Mr. Tabler was stopped for not having a front license plate light on Mayle Ridge Road and smelled of marijuana. A subsequent search yielded a small bag of marijuana.

On 16 Feb 08 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart arrested Craig R. Cole, age 20, 50248 Orchard Lane, Clarington, OH, for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Stopped for speeding on State Route 7 near Veto Road, Mr. Cole appeared nervous and consented to a search of his person. Despite claims he recently took a drug test for a new job, Mr. Cole had a marijuana bowl and small quantity of marijuana in his possession.

On 16 Feb 08 Virgene Russell, age 67, 5329 School House Road, Little Hocking, reported items stolen from her son’s vacant residence at 44 Kennedy Road, Cutler. When she arrived at the house to show it for potential buyers, Ms. Russell said she noticed copper tubing was cut from a propane tank, air conditioner parts were removed and a grill lid was missing. This case remains under investigation (200).

On 16 Feb 08 Deputy Sheriff Staats issued a citation to Garold B. Dishong, age 31, 24771 Brimstone Road, Coolville, for traveling 56 mph in a 45 mph zone and for failure to reinstate his operator’s license. Deputy Staats stopped Mr. Dishong on State Route 339 near milepost four in Dunham Township.

On 16 Feb 08 Katherine L. Buchanan, age 26, 2346 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, reported being shoved into a wall by her live-in boyfriend Donald E. Bartimus Jr., age 27. When she impacted the wall Ms. Buchanan said she hit so hard that framed pictures fell and broke. During the argument over whether Mr. Bartimus was having an affair, he also threw a cordless phone. Fleeing from the home before Deputies arrived, Mr. Bartimus was later located hiding under a neighbor’s trailer. Arrested by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes for domestic violence and criminal damaging, Bartimus was transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 16 Feb 08 Deputy Sheriff Anderson issued a citation to Felicity D. Jackson, age 18, 1985 Roberts Road, Amesville, for operating a vehicle without a driver’s license. Deputy Anderson stopped Ms. Jackson on State Route 550 near Whealdon Road in Wesley Township.

On 16 Feb 08 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued minor misdemeanor citations to Katrina Nolan, age 36, 2146 Sandhill Road, Marietta, and her live-in boyfriend Michael L. Roux, age 36, for disorderly conduct by intoxication. Both suspects admit shoving each other but neither feared for their safety.

On 16 Feb 08 Cheryl A. Harmon, age 47, 27375 State Route 7, Marietta, reported Joseph D. Ross Jr., age 52, Marietta, took her vehicle without permission. Ms. Harmon stated she asked Mr. Ross to repair her vehicle but did not give him permission to drive it. Mr. Ross left the homeless shelter where he resides and retuned later, highly intoxicated. Banned by the shelter’s director, Mr. Ross refused to leave, began yelling and threw the car keys. As a result of the incident, Deputy Sheriff Travaglio arrested Mr. Ross for disorderly conduct by intoxication, criminal trespassing, unauthorized use of a vehicle, driving under a suspended license and OVI and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Craig R. Cole, age 20, 50248 Orchard Lane, Clarington, OH, for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Cole was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Feb 08 at 1:01 am.

Dustin Ray Riley, age 22, Parkersburg, for nonsupport of dependants, a misdemeanor. Riley was arrested on Fourth Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Feb 08 at 2:55 pm.

Donald Eugene Bartimus Jr., age 27, 2342 Sealy Ridge Road, Little Hocking, for nonsupport of dependants, failure to appear, domestic violence and for criminal damaging, all misdemeanors. Bartimus was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Feb 08 at 7:20 pm.

Joseph David Ross Jr., age 52, 23735 State Route 7, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, criminal trespassing, unauthorized use of a vehicle, driving under a suspended license and OVI, all misdemeanors. Ross was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Feb 08 at 7:50 pm.

Jerry J. Matthews, age 38, 200 Mechanic Street, Macksburg, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Matthews was arrested in Macksburg by Deputy Sheriff McLeish and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Feb 08 at 10:11 pm.
