On 31 Jan 08 Deputy Sheriff Norman issued
a citation to Dawn M. Crawford, age 34, 310 Sixth Street Apt.
4, Marietta, for operating a vehicle without a license. Deputy
Norman stopped Ms. Crawford on State Route 7 near Millers Lane
in Marietta Township.
On 31 Jan 08 Dusti A. Spurlock, age 26, 836
Pike Street Apt. 24, Marietta, reported the driver of an unknown
vehicle struck the front of her Chevy Aveo while parked outside
her apartment between 6 pm on 30 Jan and 1:15 pm that afternoon.
The collision caused substantial damage to the hood of Ms.
Spurlock’s car and rendered it un-drivable. This incident
remains under investigation (790).
On 31 Jan 08 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes arrested
Gene Wells Jr., age 40, 8669 Wood Road, Chesterhill, for OVI,
for failure to reinstate his operator’s license and for
not having license plates. Stopped for having expired tags
on his vehicle, Mr. Wells denied being intoxicated but later
admitted drinking beer prior to the stop at 11:10 am. With
Mr. Wells in custody, Deputy Rhodes searched his vehicle and
located twelve empty Busch Light beer cans. When transported
to the Washington County Jail Mr. Wells tested .147 BAC.
On 31 Jan 08 the mother of a seventeen year
old Vincent resident reported her son suffered a puncture wound
when a BB ricocheted and struck him behind the right ear. The
teenager was at a friend’s residence on Brackenridge
Road when the injury occurred and received treatment for the
minor injury at Selby Hospital. Though the cause appears to
be accidental, this case remains under investigation (1183).
On 31 Jan 08 Deputy Sheriffs Anderson and
Smeeks responded to the scene of death of a seventy-one year
old Vincent resident. The man’s death appears natural;
no foul play is suspected.
On 31 Jan 08 Jocelyn Whealdon, age 18, 889
Whealdon Road, Cutler, reported she was visiting her cousin’s
home on King Avenue in Cutler when she witnessed her ex-boyfriend
intentionally back his truck into the front of her 1991 Pontiac.
This case remains under investigation (1183).
On 31 Jan 08 Deputy Sheriff Carr responded
to the scene of death of a seventy-six year old Newport resident.
The woman’s death appears natural; no foul play is suspected.
On 31 Jan 08 Brad Hoover, age 56, 1105 Sand
Ridge Road, Waterford, reported while he was away from his
residence that day an unknown suspect(s) entered his home and
stole a large quantity of change he estimates to be worth $2,500.
This case remains under investigation (610).

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Lovell Gene Wells Jr., age 40, 8669 Wood Road,
Chesterhill, for OVI, for failure to reinstate his operator’s
license and for not having license plates, all misdemeanors.
Wells was arrested in Bartlett by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 31 Jan 08 at 12:28
pm.
Billy Joe Davis, age 22, 19 High Street, Vincent, for failure
to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor.
Davis was arrested at McDonald’s in Belpre by Patrolman
Clevenger of the Belpre City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 31 Jan 08 at 5:55 pm.
Stephen Allen Butler, age 23, 736 Greene Street, Marietta,
for two felony counts of trafficking in drugs. Butler was arrested
at his residence by Detective Schuck of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 31 Jan 08 at 9:00 pm.
Richard E. Addlesburger, age 46, 135 Fred Smith Road, New
Matamoras, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Addlesburger was arrested in New Matamoras by Probation Officer
Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 31
Jan 08 at 10:00 pm.
