On 29 Jan 08 an employee of Bartlett Farmers
Bank, 315 Orchard Avenue, Little Hocking, reported on 23 Nov
07 an individual cashed a check for $400 that was later discovered
to have been drawn on an account with non-sufficient funds.
This case remains under investigation (8411).
On 29 Jan 08 an employee of Concepts West,
17943 State Route 7, Marietta, reported between noon on 23
Jan and 4 pm on 28 Jan 145 pounds of various sizes of copper
wires were stolen from a pallet in a storage area. This case
remains under investigation (232).
On 29 Jan 08 he owner of Dave’s Auto
Sales, 705 Virginia Street, Marietta, reported a tail light
assembly and a catalytic converter were stolen off a 1996 Toyota
truck sometime since 23 Jan. This case remains under investigation
(790).
On 29 Jan 08 Deputies patrolling the Lowell
area located and stopped a vehicle driven by Brett E. Shank,
age 39, Marietta. Shank, who earlier threatened to harm himself,
reportedly stated he was armed with a knife and would fight
anyone who attempted to arrest him. Upon being stopped, Shank
exited his vehicle voluntarily and Sgt. Parks removed a knife
from Shank’s possession without incident. Arrested for
carrying a concealed weapon, Shank performed poorly on field
sobriety tests and was also charged with OVI. When transported
to the Washington County Jail, Shank tested .166 BAC.
On 29 Jan 08 an employee of Asplundh reported
between 23 and 28 Jan the catalytic converters off of two of
the company’s pickup trucks were stolen while they were
parked at 2346 State Route 550, Bartlett. This case remains
under investigation (592).
On 29 Jan 08 Chris G. Archer, 278 Oakmont
Avenue, Belpre, reported his wallet, containing $60, five credit
cards and other items, was stolen from his locker at the Energizer
Battery Plant sometime during his 7 pm to 7 am shift. This
case remains under investigation (592).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
David Fredrick Myers, age 25, 246 Benn Lake
Road, Walker, WV, for OVI, for driving under a suspended license
and for failure to signal, all misdemeanors. Myers was arrested
on Acme Street in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Jan 08
at 3:15 am.
Jerry Wayne Seabolt, age 36, 255 Highland
Ridge Road, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license,
a misdemeanor. Seabolt was arrested on Lee Street in Belpre
by Patrolman Clevenger of the Belpre City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Jan 08
at 10:20 pm.
Dorothy Mae Smith, age 39, 255 Highland Ridge Road, Marietta,
for wrongful entrustment, a misdemeanor. Smith was arrested
on Lee Street in Belpre by Patrolman Stump of the Belpre City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 29 Jan 08 at 10:30 pm.
Brett Eric Shank, age 39, Marietta, for
OVI and for carrying a concealed weapon, both misdemeanors.
Shank was arrested on
State Route 60 by Sgt. Parks of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29
Jan 08 at 10:45 pm.
