On 28 Jan 08 an employee of the 50A Carryout,
15918 State Route 550, Fleming, reported when she arrived to
open the store that morning she noticed pry marks on the door.
Additionally, a basement door was pried and broken in an attempt
to enter the business. The store clerk stated nothing appears
missing at this time. This case remains under investigation
(1184).
On 28 Jan 08 Carla Clark, age 23, 105 State
Route 555 Apt. 5, Little Hocking, reported being assaulted
by her now ex-live-in boyfriend’s mother, Rhonda G. McFann,
age 40, 4215 Brandaberry Road, Coolville. Ms. Clark said she
just kicked her boyfriend out of their apartment after he broke
up with her and Ms. McFann came to pick him up. Immediately
when Ms. McFann arrived, Ms. Clark stated she began making
threats. Ms. McFann later slapped Ms. Clark, grabbed her by
the hair and dragged her into the apartment. Confirming Ms.
Clark’s account with witnesses, Deputy Sheriff Norman
requested a warrant for Ms. McFann for assault.
On 28 Jan 08 the owner of the Outskirts, 20825
State Route 550, Marietta, reported sometime during the night
an unknown suspect(s) broke the glass out of one of the business’ doors,
entered the business and stole over seventy packs of cigarette,
six six-packs of beer, two six packs of Smirnoff, twelve t-shirts
and a radio. This case remains under investigation (592).
On 28 Jan 08 the owner of Sandhill Mini Storage,
155 Sandhill Road, Reno, reported on 23 Jan one of his renters
informed him that the locks were cut off of six storage units.
Of the two renters he spoke with thus far, neither believed
anything was missing from their unit. This case remains under
investigation (790).
On 28 Jan 08 the manager of Dollar General,
10282 State Route 550, Vincent, reported receiving what she
believes was a counterfeit $20 bill. It is unclear if the currency
is counterfeit, as it has a series date of 1950 and could have
caused the “counterfeit pen” to return a false
positive. This case remains under investigation (232).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Arnold Wilkerson Slusher, age 64, 35211 Hanson
Road, Beverly, for OVI, driving left of center and for contempt
of a court order, all misdemeanors. Slusher was arrested in
Marietta Municipal Court by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Jan 08 at 12:01
pm.
Mark James Hinton, age 28, 710 Third Street, Belpre, a fugitive
from justice. Hinton was arrested on Elm Street in Belpre by
Patrolman Williams of the Belpre City Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Jan 08 at 3:37
pm.
