On 21 Jan 08 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart issued
a citation to Mario C. Difranco, age 19, 13370 Chillicothe
Road, Chesterland, OH, for traveling 74 mph in a 55 mph zone.
Deputy Lockhart stopped Mr. Difranco on State Route 7 near
Lockhart Street in Belpre Township.
On 21 Jan 08 an employee of Burt Builders,
4815 State Route 339, Vincent, reported when he arrived at
work he noticed the glass of a door was pushed in where it
appeared an unknown suspect unsuccessfully attempted to enter
the building. This case remains under investigation (515).
On 21 Jan 08 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart issued
a citation to Randy D. Schofield, age 45, 18 High Street, Vincent,
for driving under a suspended license and for failing to provide
proof of insurance. Deputy Lockhart stopped Mr. Schofield on
State Route 339 near Lake Lane in Dunham Township.
On 21 Jan 08 Justin L. Maliki, age 22, 300
Starlite Drive Lot 7, Marietta, reported thirteen DVD’s
and a portable DVD player were stolen from his home Friday
evening. Mr. Maliki stated he suspected Andrew B. Tucker, age
24, no known address, took the items because he found Mr. Tucker
in his residence without permission Friday night. Contacted
through relatives, Mr. Tucker returned six of the DVD’s
but nothing else. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Mankins requested
a warrant for Mr. Tucker for theft.
On 21 Jan 08 Harold R. Everly, age 59, Southgate
Trailer Park Lot 1, Reno, reported his sister Velma Hoover,
age 60, punched him twice in the jaw. Mr. Everly stated his
sister, with whom he lives, harasses him constantly and in
the past has threatened to kill hill him. That morning at 8:30,
Mr. Everly said he heated coffee in the microwave and Ms. Hoover
attacked him because he woke her by supposedly making too much
noise. In consequence, Deputy Sheriff Mankins arrested Ms.
Hoover for domestic violence and transported her to the Washington
County Jail.
On 21 Jan 08 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart issued
a citation to Brett J. Laughlin, age 46, 405 Blue Valley Road,
Lancaster, for passing on a double yellow line. Deputy Lockhart
stopped Mr. Laughlin near milepost thirteen on State Route
550 after Mr. Laughlin forced two vehicles off the road when
passing a semi-truck.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jessica Lynn Stevens, age 26, 726 ½ Third Street, Marietta,
for obstructing official business, a misdemeanor. Stevens was
arrested at her residence by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 21 Jan 08 at 1:01 am.
Merrill Allan Dawson, age 60, 50365 Arbaugh Street, Tuppers
Plains, for OVI, for violating the terms of his probation and
for failure to reinstate his operator’s license, all
misdemeanors. Dawson was arrested on US 50 near State Route
339 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 21 Jan 08 at 2:13 am.
Rocky Lee Morris, age 49, 410 Market Street, Marietta, for
domestic violence, a felony. Morris was arrested at his residence
by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jan 08
at 2:40 pm.
Lewis Edward Muro, age 30, 728 Fourth Street, Marietta, for
felony charges of theft, breaking and entering and escape and
for misdemeanor charges of theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Muro was arrested near K-Mart in Marietta by Patrolman Gragan
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 21 Jan 08 at 3:20 pm.
Velma Mae Hoover, age 60, Southgate Trailer Park Lot 1, Reno,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Hoover was arrested at
her residence by Sgt. Parks f the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21
Jan 08 at 6:00 pm.
