On 13 Jan 08 Deputy Travaglio arrested Jeremy A. Neville, age 25, 125 E. Spring Street, Marietta, for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. A passenger in a vehicle stopped on Front Street, Mr. Neville had an odor of burnt marijuana and was found in possession of a small bag of marijuana and a glass marijuana pipe.

On 13 Jan 08, residents in the area of State Routes 339 and 676 reported passengers in a Chevy Blazer were throwing beer cans out of the vehicle. Locating the vehicle and speaking to its driver, Deputy Sheriff Travaglio determined the vehicle’s passengers were responsible. When interviewed, Anthony T. Hill, age 18, 1192 Patten Mills Road, Cutler, and Derek D. Rockhold, age 18, 46 Hickory Drive, Little Hocking, both stated they were drinking beer while their friend drove the vehicle. As a result, Deputy Travaglio arrested Hill and Rockhold for consuming alcohol in a vehicle and for underage consumption of alcohol and transported them to the Washington County Jail.

On 13 Jan 08 Deputy Sheriff Staats arrested Larry D. Haught Jr., age 27, 555 Dodd Run Road, Marietta, for OVI and for driving under a suspended license. Stopped for not using a turn signal, Mr. Haught had a strong odor of alcohol and slurred his speech. Mr. Haught performed poorly on field sobriety tests and refused to submit a breath sample, saying he knew he was over the limit.

On 13 Jan 08 a witness at the Lowell Duke, 100 Main Street, Lowell, reported two males were in the parking lot engaged in fisticuffs. Deputy Sheriff Norman responded and determined the brawl started when John Fortney, age 18, 4350 State Route 530, Lowell, perceived a glance from Roger Riggs, age 24, 555 Schau Road, Lowell, as a threat. Tumbling to the ground, Riggs was on top of Fortney when Fortney’s father sprayed him with pepper spray to end the fight. Due to the involvement of both parties, Riggs and Fortney were charged by Deputy Norman with disorderly conduct by fighting.

On 13 Jan 08 Sgt. Stackpole issued a citation to Charles E. Holcomb, age 37, 584 Jim Stone Road, Lizemores, WV, for operating a vehicle with tags that expired in December 2007. Sgt. Stackpole stopped Mr. Holcomb on State Route 7 near Mitchell’s Lane in Marietta Township.

On 13 Jan 08 Deputy Sheriff Staats observed a vehicle with an expired registration on Roberts Road and conducted a traffic stop. Speaking to the driver, Corey M. Tabler, age 27, 19912 Sandrock Road, Stewart, Deputy Staats noticed an odor of alcohol as well as an open can of Busch Light in the front seat. Mr. Tabler performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was charged with OVI and with consuming alcohol in a vehicle. Also arrested was Phillip Z. Singer, age 18, 18 Hanover Road, Cutler, for underage consumption of alcohol. Singer had an odor of alcohol and also performed poorly on sobriety tests. Both were transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 13 Jan 08 Deputy Sheriff Staats arrested Larry D. Haught Jr., age 27, 555 Dodd Run Road, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by intoxication and resisting arrest. Deputy Staats noticed Mr. Haught staggering along Dodd Run Road, carrying a case of beer roughly three hours after arresting him for OVI. Haught repeatedly yelled profanities at the deputies on the scene and became aggressive and uncooperative when being placed under arrest.

On 13 Jan 08 Donald Kitts, age 25, 10270 State Route 550, Vincent, reported sometime after 11 Jan when he began serving a thirty day stretch in jail, an unknown suspect drove his 1995 Ford Mustang and caused damage to the front end. This case remains under investigation (1001).

On 13 Jan 08 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio arrested Ryan E. Hayes, age 30, Marietta, for driving under a suspended license, for possession of drugs, for possession of drug paraphernalia and for several traffic violations. Stopping Mr. Hayes for not using a turn signal on State Route 550, Deputy Travaglio saw a plastic bag of marijuana on the backseat floor. A subsequent search also yielded a pack of rolling papers.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Sherman Dewayne Holder, age 45, 12858 State Route 676 Apt. B, Waterford, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Holder was arrested on State Route 339 by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 08 at 12:26 am.

Anthony Trent Hill, age 18, 1192 Patten Mills Road, Bartlett, for underage consumption of alcohol and for consuming alcohol in a vehicle, both misdemeanors. Hill was arrested in Beverly by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 08 at 1:13 am.

Derek Dwayne Rockhold, age 18, 46 Hickory Drive, Little Hocking, for underage consumption of alcohol and for consuming alcohol in a vehicle, both misdemeanors. Rockhold was arrested in Beverly by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 08 at 1:23 am.

Larry Dale Haught Jr., age 27, 555 Dodd Run Road, Marietta, for resisting arrest and for disorderly conduct by intoxication, both misdemeanors. Haught was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Staats and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 08 at 2:51 am.

Ryan Evan Hayes, Marietta, for driving under an OVI suspended license, possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to signal, for having fictitious plates and for not wearing a seat belt, all misdemeanors. Hayes was arrested on State Rote 550 by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 08 at 3:37 am.

Teresa Lynn Still, age 35, 169 State Street, Athens, for OVI, for driving under an FRA suspended license and for not dimming her headlights, all misdemeanors. Still was arrested on US 50 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 08 at 6:45 am.

Amy Lynn Treadway, age 34, 815 Fifth Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Treadway was arrested on Front Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 08 at 5:46 pm.

Jesse Aaron Anderson, age 24, 138 Franklin Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Anderson was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Gragan of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 08 at 6:10 pm.

Mark Allen Douglas, age 21, 850 Graham Road, Cuyahoga Falls, OH, for driving under an FRA suspended license and for speeding, both misdemeanors. Douglas was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 08 at 7:27 pm.

Anthony Joseph Oddo, age 22, Marietta, for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Oddo was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 08 at 7:58 pm.

Mark Anthony Taggart, age 25, 3612 Schenley Boulevard Apt. 15, Ashtabula, OH, for driving under an FRA suspended license and for speeding, both misdemeanors. Taggart was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 08 at 9:48 pm.

Brandie Ann Smearman, age 25, 111 Montgomery Street Lot 10, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Smearman was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 08 at 11:08 pm.

Shane Michael Bennett, age 31, 718 ½ Middle Street Apt. B, Belpre, for driving under a suspended license, a misdemeanor. Bennett was arrested in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Staats and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 08 at 11:19 pm.

Jeremy Adam Neville, age 25, 125 Spring Street, Marietta, for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. Neville was arrested on Front Street in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 08 at 11:38 pm.
