On 11 Jan 08 a seventeen year old student at the Washington County Career Center reported her wallet and its contents were stolen from her unlocked locker while she was in auto mechanics class that afternoon. This case remains under investigation (1293).

On 11 Jan 08 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart issued a citation to Gregory C. Morgan, age 40, 404 Virginia Street, New Martinsville, for operating a vehicle with fictitious tags and for not having insurance. Deputy Lockhart stopped Mr. Morgan on State Route 7 near Sheets Road in Newport Township.

On 11 Jan 08 Corby D. Kitts, age 43, 100 Water Street, Lowell, reported his wife Brenda, age 46, punched him in the mouth. Mr. Kitts said his wife was unhappy that he confronted her about individuals of questionable character that she associates with. As a result, Deputy Staats arrested Mrs. Kitts for domestic violence and transported her to the Washington County Jail.

On 11 Jan 08 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio issued a minor misdemeanor citation to Jason M. Rowe, age 27, 127 Ohio Boulevard, Marietta, for possession of marijuana. During a traffic stop, Deputy Travaglio discovered a partially smoked marijuana joint that Mr. Rowe had concealed in a cigarette pack.

On 11 Jan 08 Connie Lang, age 39, 1490 State Route 821, Marietta, reported in December an unauthorized individual utilized her checking account to transfer three payments to Alltell for a total of $252.37. This case remains under investigation (586).

On 11 Deputy Sheriff Travaglio conducted a traffic stop on Greene Street in Marietta after observing the driver of a vehicle fail to stop at a flashing red light. Speaking to the driver, Travis L. Davis, age 20, 2504 13th Avenue Apt. 12, Vienna, Deputy Travaglio noticed an odor of alcohol and administered sobriety tests. Following his poor performance on the tests, Mr. Davis was arrested for OVI, underage consumption of alcohol, driving under a suspended license and transported to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Brenda Kay Kitts, age 46, 100 Water Street, Lowell, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Kitts was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Jan 08 at 1:15 am.

Michael Anthony Trent, age 38, 140 Franklin Street, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Trent was arrested at his residence by Patrolman McClelland of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Jan 08 at 3:07 pm.

James Charles Hoselton, age 61, 415 John Street, Belpre, for conspiracy, intimidation and retaliation, all felonies. Hoselton was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Jan 08 at 4:01 pm.

Michael Joseph Littleton, age 20, 710 Front Street Apt. 11, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Littleton was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Nedeff of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 11 Jan 08 at 5:05 pm.
