On 8 Jan 08 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks arrested
James B. Whealdon, age 20, 889 Whealdon Road, Cutler, for possession
of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and for speeding.
Acting nervous during the traffic stop, Mr. Whealdon was sweating,
his hands were shaking and he would not make eye contact. Deputy
Smeeks conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle with his
canine. Once the canine indicated the presence of drugs, Deputy
Smeeks searched the vehicle and discovered a marijuana pipe,
a soda can fashioned to smoke marijuana and a plastic bag containing
a small amount of marijuana.
On 8 Jan 08, Warren High School basketball
game, Deputy Sheriff Mankins encountered two sixteen year old
males who had an odor of alcohol. Though at first they both
denied drinking alcohol, both admitted drinking beer at one
of their homes. Providing breath tests results of .072 and
.128 BAC, both juveniles will be summonsed to Juvenile Court
on delinquency charges.
On 8 Jan 08 Jerry L. Rastorfer, age 50, 6466
Germantown Road, Lower Salem, reported she rolled her vehicle
the previous evening when she swerved to avoid four deer while
traveling on Liberty UB Church Road. Claiming AAA did not show
up when she phoned them, Ms. Rastorfer said she walked home.
When she returned to her vehicle the next day Ms. Rastorfer
alleges some “yahoo” may have entered the vehicle
and stole a prescription bottle containing 20 mg Oxycontin
pills and several DVD’s. Ms. Rastorfer refused to cooperate
further, only wanting to file a report so she could replace
her narcotic medication as required by her doctor (945).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Tommy Glen Bettis, age 58, Marietta, for breach
of recognizance, a felony. Bettis was picked up at the Noble
Correctional Institution by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Jan 08 at 2:52
pm.
Barbara Gene Kleintop, age 62, 8064 State Route 60, Beverly,
for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Kleintop was arrested
at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Mankins and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 8 Jan 08 at 4:14 pm.
James Bertram Whealdon, age 20, 889 Whealdon Road, Cutler,
for possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and
for speeding, all misdemeanors. Whealdon was arrested on State
Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Smeeks and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 8 Jan 08 at 5:45 pm.
Connie Ann Trout, age 25, 2513 Lenore Street, Parkersburg,
for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Trout was picked up in
Jackson County by Corrections Officer Anderson and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 8 Jan 08 at 7:51 pm.
