On 1 Jan 08 Linda S. Bradley, age 55, 13140
County Nine Road, New Matamoras, reported she believes her
half sister, with whom she lives, stole a large quantity of
her newly filled prescriptions for Soma and Vicodin. When questioned,
the suspect, Alice Keeler, age 45, admitted taking approximately
twenty pills and consuming them. In consequence, Deputy Sheriff
Eddy will forward a brief supporting a charge of theft of drugs
to the Prosecutor’s Office for grand jury consideration.
On 1 Jan 08 Deputy Sheriff Spencer investigated
reports of mailboxes damages at 493 School House Road, Little
Hocking and at 28 Lake Road, Belpre. In both instances, the
unknown suspect(s) placed an improvised explosive device composed
of aluminum foil and drain cleaner inside a soft drink bottle,
sealed the bottle and placed it inside the mailbox where it
exploded.
On 1 Jan 08 a witness at the Bada Bing, 47410
State Route 7, New Matamoras, reported a couple in the parking
lot was engaged in what appeared to be a domestic dispute.
A vehicle in which the suspects were traveling was located
and stopped shortly thereafter on State Route 7. When questioned,
Teddi L. Schwaben, age 29, 50 Hazelwood Road, Marietta, stated
she was so angry that her husband Myron, age 30, was dancing
with other women that she punched him in the face and said
that it was worth it and he deserved it. Mr. Schwaben, whose
nose and eyes were swollen, refused to write a statement, only
saying his wife punched him. As a result, Deputy Sheriff Travaglio
arrested Mrs. Schwaben for domestic violence and transported
her to the Washington County Jail.
On 1 Jan 08 Ryan Alloway, age 31, 470 Holdren
Road, Little Hocking, reported his live-in girlfriend struck
him in the face during a gathering with friends at their residence.
Interviewing witnesses, Deputy Sheriff Carr was unable to substantiate
Mr. Alloway’s claim and closed this case as unfounded.

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Teddi Lynn Schwaben, age 29, 50 Hazelwood
Road, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Schwaben
was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Travaglio and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jan 08 at 2:45
am.
Elizabeth Ann West, age 26, 906 Fifth Street,
Marietta, for OVI, failure to reinstate her operator’s
license, for not wearing a seat belt and for operating a vehicle
with a defective exhaust, all misdemeanors. West was arrested
on Second Street in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Jan 08 at
4:07 am.
Nancy Lynn Carpenter, age 58, 513 Putnam Street,
Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Carpenter was
arrested at her residence by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 1 Jan 08 at 7:55 pm.
