On 28 Dec 07 a seventeen year old Marietta
resident reported he parked his vehicle at 11:30 the previous
evening and when he woke up that morning he noticed that an
un\known suspect threw a large rock through the driver side
window. This case remains under investigation (586).
On 28 Dec 07 Josh K. Merrow, age 19, 1055
Coal Run Street, Lower Salem, reported noticing small dents
in the door of his Dodge truck that appears to have been caused
by pellets shot from a pellet gun. This case remains under
investigation (1293).
On 28 Dec 07 a Warren Township Trustee reported
an unknown suspect intercepted a check the township issued
for $33,000 for a fire truck payment and changed the payee
and increased the check amount to $591,000. Exercising diligence,
the township’s bank did not cash the suspicious draft.
This case remains under investigation (586).
On 28 Dec 07 Beverly J. Noland, age 55, 73
Dangle Avenue, Akron, reported sometime since she and her husband
visited their property at 4283 Milner Road, Waterford on 24
Nov, an unknown suspect forcibly entered their house and storage
building and stole a satellite receiver, a drill, two saws
and various other tools. This case remains under investigation
(1001).
On 28 Dec 07 Deputy Sheriff Staats conducted
a traffic stop on a vehicle in which Ellen P. Pickens, age
31, 15 Powell Drive, Parkersburg, was a passenger. Once an
exterior canine sniff indicated the presence of drugs in the
vehicle, Deputy Staats discovered marijuana and a pipe in Ms.
Pickens’ purse. As a result, Deputy Staats arrested Ms.
Pickens for possession of drugs and for possession of drug
paraphernalia and transported her to the Washington County
Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Elmer Carl Wenzel Jr., age 45, 17977 State
Route 26, Reno, for driving under a suspended license and for
not stopping at a stop sign, both misdemeanors. Wenzel was
arrested on Millers Lane by Deputy Sheriff McLeish and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 28 Dec 07 at 12:05 am.
James Dennis Rhodes, age 32, 825 County House
Lane, Marietta, for violating the terms of a protection order,
a misdemeanor. Rhodes was arrested in Marietta by Deputy Sheriff
Reynolds and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28
Dec 07 at 5:00 pm.
Brian Keith Bunting, age 51, 710 Washington Boulevard, for
being intoxicated on a roadway, a misdemeanor. Bunting was
arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Dec 07
at 7:40 pm.
Ellen Pauline Pickens, age 31, 15 Powell Drive, Parkersburg,
for possession of drugs and for possession of drug paraphernalia,
both misdemeanors. Pickens was arrested on US 50 in Belpre
by Deputy Sheriff Staats and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 28 Dec 07 at 11:00 pm.
