On 8 Dec 07 Deputy Sheriff Staats issued a
citation to Melissa D. Martin, age 41, 432 Douglas Avenue,
Marietta, for failure to reinstate her operator’s license.
Deputy Staats stopped Ms. Martin at the intersection of Lancaster
Street and Douglas Avenue in Pioneer Township.
On 8 Dec 07 an employee of Bartlett Farmers
Bank, 8515 State Route 339, Barlow, reported a customer cashed
a check for $4,875.25 and the check was later determined to
be fraudulent. Speaking to the customer, Deputy Smeeks determined
the check was received through the mail as part of a lottery
scheme and there was no malicious intent. However, the bank
could pursue a civil judgment against he customer, as she received
and spent $2,675 from the check.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Cheryl Ann West, age 50, 534 Fifth Street, Parkersburg, for
OVI and for driving left of center, both misdemeanors. West
was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Dec 07 at
2:15 am.
Stephen Lee Parish, age 40, 365 Phillips Street Apt. B, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Parish was arrested at his residence
by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Dec 07 at
4:58 am.
Steven Joe Tewkesbury, age 58, 49, Sandhill Road, Marietta,
for public indecency, a misdemeanor. Tewkesbury was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Simmons and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 8 Dec 07 at 11:17 am.
Jennifer Marie Stone, age 22, 717 Greene Street Apt. B, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Stone was arrested at her residence by
Deputy Sheriff Eddy and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 8 Dec 07 at 11:51 am.
Tyson Chad Hill, age 26, 175 Goose Run Road, Marietta, for
possession of drugs, a felony. Hill was arrested on State Route
550 by Sgt. Parks of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Dec
07 at 12:50 pm.
Andrew Joel Carey, age 22, 126 Moreland Court Apt. 3, Davnille,
VA, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Carey was picked up in Brown County by Corrections Officer
Bichard and processed into the Washington County Jail on 8
Dec 07 at 6:10 pm.
David Arthur Dewitt, age 25, 107 Wilson Avenue, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation and for failure to
appear, both misdemeanors. Dewitt turned himself in to Sgt.
Stackpole of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and
was processed into the Washington County Jail on 8 Dec 07 at
9:10 pm.
