On 1 Dec 07 the owner of the Cutler Station,
9731 State Route 555, Cutler, reported sometime overnight an
unknown suspect(s) broke a window to enter the store and stole
around sixty packs of cigarettes. This case remains under investigation
(1293).
On 1 Dec 07 Deputy Sheriff Lockhart encountered
a parked vehicle that was running, partially in the roadway
on State Route 7 and with its turn signal and headlights on.
In the vehicle, Andrea D. Adorante, age 49, 13651 County Road
9, New Matamoras, was passed out, slumped over in the driver’s
seat. Reeking of alcohol, Ms. Adorante repeatedly yelled expletives
when she was awakened and fell to the ground when she exited
the vehicle. Unable to complete sobriety tests, Ms. Adorante
was arrested for OVI. When transported to the Washington County
Jail Ms. Adorante refused to submit to a BAC test.
On 1 Dec 07 Deputy Sheriff Morris arrested
Beatrice R. Richards, age 50, 325 Lynch Church Road, Marietta,
for possession of cocaine and for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Dispatched to the residence for an unrelated matter, Deputy
Morris requested permission to search Ms. Richards’ purse
for safety reasons. Inside the purse Deputy Morris found a
glass pipe containing residue that field tested positive for
crack cocaine.
HUNTER ACCIDENTALLY SHOT IN FEET
On December 1, 2007 at approximately 2:00 pm Deputy Sheriff
Jeff Morris responded to a call on Pam Road in Rinard Mills,
in northeastern Washington County. Hunting on nearby property,
Jordan Germann, age 20, 6549 Brock Street, Dublin, OH, accidentally
shot himself and injured both of his feet. The injury occurred
when Germann accidentally fired the shotgun while sitting down.
The accidental discharge caused powder burns on Germann's right
foot and tore a chunk of flesh from his left foot. Germann
was treated and released from Selby General Hospital, with
the wound to his left foot described as superficial. If required,
the Department of Natural Resources will conduct a follow up
investigation.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Darren Matthew Gillespie, age 38, PO Box 86,
Rosedale, MD, for felony charges of assault and vandalism and
for misdemeanor charges of OVI and resisting arrest. Gillespie
was arrested at the Riverside bar by Patrolman Sury of the
Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 1 Dec 07 at 12:45 am.
Andrea Doria Adorante, age 49, 13651 County Road 9, New Matamoras,
for OVI, a misdemeanor. Adorante was arrested on State Route
7 in Newport by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 1 Dec 07 at 2:00 am.
Aaron Joseph Streight, age 28, 601 Phillips Street, Marietta,
for receiving stolen property, for failure to appear at a court
ordered hearing on unpaid fines and for criminal damaging,
all misdemeanors. Streight was arrested at McDonald’s
by Patrolman McClelland of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Dec 07 at
1:09 pm.
Christopher Allen Peyton, age 18, 118 Second Street, Lower
Salem, for two counts of burglary and for one count of breaking
and entering, all felonies. Peyton was arrested in Marietta
by Sgt. Parks of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Dec 07 at
1:47 pm.
Daniel Deane Luke Jr., age 18, 907 Garfield Avenue, Marietta,
for two counts of burglary and for one count of breaking and
entering, all felonies. Luke was arrested at his residence
by Sgt. Parks of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Dec 07 at
3:49 pm.
Michael James Farnsworth, age 18, 723 Fourth Street, Marietta,
for two counts of burglary and for one count of breaking and
entering, all felonies. Farnsworth was arrested at his residence
by Sgt. Parks of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Dec 07 at
5:30 pm.
Beatrice Renee Richards, age 50, 325 Lynch Church Road, Marietta,
for a felony charge of possession of drugs and for a misdemeanor
charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Richards was arrested
on State Route 7 in Newport by Deputy Sheriff Lockhart and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Dec 07 at 2:00
am.
