On 24 Nov 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks requested
a summons for Jeffrey J. Miller, age 20, 950 Sandusky Road,
Albany, OH, for possession of marijuana and for possession
of drug paraphernalia. During a traffic stop for having a faulty
exhaust, Deputy Smeeks’ canine indicated the presence
of drugs in Mr. Miller’s truck. Asked about a small quantity
of marijuana and metal pipe, Mr. Miller stated the items were
his and he recently smoked marijuana.
On 24 Nov 07 Richard Knoll, age 52, 9260 State
Route 260, New Matamoras, reported sometime during the past
five days an unknown suspect(s) entered his company’s
storage location at 10467 State Route 260 and stole six gas
meters, valves, meters and two rolls of wire. This incident
remains under investigation (790).
On 24 Nov 07 Deputy Sheriff Staats issued
a minor misdemeanor citation to Douglas Kaltenbach, age 46,
7025 Marion Street, Chesterhill, for being in possession of
an open container of alcohol. Mr. Kaltenbach was stopped by
Deputy Staats on State Route 555 and had an open can of Budweiser
on the floorboard of his vehicle.
On 24 Nov 07 Deputy Sheriff Parks charged
Monica Lemley, age 28, 1295 Sycamore Street, Ravenswood, WV,
with trafficking in drugs. While being processed into jail
on another charge, Corrections Officers discovered a pill bottle
containing hydrocodone that was not in Lemley’s name.
Lemley stated a friend phoned her and said if she paid the
$20 to get the prescription he would sell the pills and pay
her $90 from the proceeds. Lemley said she intended to return
the pills to her friend to sell but was arrested before she
could do so.
On 24 Nov 07 Deputy Sheriff Staats investigated
a single vehicle crash at 734 Fisher Ridge Road in Little Hocking.
Philip G. Welch, age 53, 1502 Stone Quarry Road, Fleming, was
traveling eastbound on Fisher Ridge Road when he saw a deer
and turned down the driveway at 734 Fisher Ridge Road. Twenty
yards down the driveway Mr. Welch struck a tree and caused
moderate damage to his truck. The Barlow squad transported
Mr. Welch to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment for minor
injuries.
On 24 Nov 07 Daniel W. Camp, age 37, 969 Gerken
Road, Whipple, reported he was awakened at 1:30 am and saw
an unknown male standing next to his Jeep Cherokee. Examining
his vehicle the next morning, Mr. Camp observed two puncture
marks in the right rear tire. This case remains under investigation
(1001).
On 24 Nov 07 Robert R. Kletrovetz, age 67,
1036 S. Old 3C Road, Sunbury, OH, reported he is a part-owner
of a residence at 4285 State Route 676 near Dale and sometime
since one of the owners left the residence on 17 Nov, an unknown
suspect(s) broke the glass in the center of a door. This case
remains under investigation (1001).
On 24 Nov 07 an employee of Napa, 537 Fifth
Street, Beverly, reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s)
spray painted the words “Blood VANS” on the side
of the store. This case was forwarded to the Beverly Police
Department for further investigation (1001).
On 24 Nov 07 Deputy Sheriff Smeeks issued
a citation to Jeffrey A. Brooks, age 25, 7484 Williams Road,
Athens, for traveling 78 mph in a 60 mph zone. Deputy Smeeks
stopped Mr. Brooks near milepost two on US 50 in Belpre Township.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Shawn Michael Layman, age 27, Route 2 Box 145-9, Waverly,
WV, for driving with an expired license, a misdemeanor. Layman
was arrested on State Route 339 in Beverly by Lt. Wilson of
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 24 Nov 07 at 1:40 am.
Jacson Lee Ferry, age 26, 252 Carter Avenue, Dayton, TN, for
driving under a suspended license and for speeding, both misdemeanors.
Ferry was arrested near milepost six on Interstate 77 by the
Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 24 Nov 07 at 8:50 am.
Monica Ann Lemley, age 28, 1295 Sycamore Street, Ravenswood,
WV, for a felony charge of trafficking in drugs and for a misdemeanor
charge of theft. Lemley was arrested at K-Mart in Marietta
by Patrolman Ellenwood of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24 Nov 07
at 12:55 pm.
Angel Beth Jackson, age 25, State Route 681, Tuppers Plains,
OH, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid
fines, a misdemeanor. Jackson was arrested at her residence
by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 24 Nov 07 at 10:04 pm.
David Mark Tewkesbury, age 43, 521 Barclay Street, Belpre,
for OVI and for speeding, both misdemeanors. Tewkesbury was
arrested on State Route 7 in Marietta by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 24
Nov 07 at 10:04 pm.
